Shoe-horning in some random ferry content as a way of saying we’re on holiday for a couple of days!

It does mean the delivery schedule changes slightly this week so please do get your online shop orders in by midday today (Wednesday) if you would like to stock up for the weekend.

Our popular alcohol free pale ale is back. Clean Slate has the crisp cleanness of a cracking pale ale without the ABV. It’s helpfully gluten free and vegan as well.

The Beer Haul do an amazing job supporting independent businesses like us and have really helped get us in places we never would have got to ourselves. Give them a follow - they have amazing taste in beer (of course) and will really bring some interesting finds to your feed.

We don’t usually blow our own trumpet…

Mostly because we can’t remember what box we put it in but let’s be honest this pint of the waning summer crop of New Shoots looks phenomenal. Well cared for and perfectly served.

Our other summer hero, Bramble Pie is also coming to the end of its season with the last cask heading off to The Windsor in Leith and the can cupboard is now bare.

Come and find us on Castle Terrace this Saturday 22nd for Edinburgh Farmers' Market.

You can browse the market for some great local produce and round it off with something from our range of tasty beers, including gluten free and vegan options. The weekend also sees the triumphant return of Clean Slate, our incredible alcohol free pale ale so we really so have something for everyone.

A sure sign that summer is almost over...

No, not just the rain but the last cask of New Shoots has now been tapped at The Four Marys so get along there and keep an eye out for a sad looking Brett.

It's not entirely a reason to panic though - we do still have New Shoots available from our online shop so you can sit back and fondly remember that time when it wasn't raining.

We seem to have met lots of new people recently so thought we should introduce the Strangers Brewing team again.

Brett is the one without the apron, and the founder of Strangers Brewing. He still does all the brewing and thinking, making sure every pint is true to his original vision. When asked to pick a favourite child Brett went for New Shoots, not just because it tastes amazing (and wins awards) but because it embodies that vision. Outstanding beer inspired by traditional methods, enhanced with local ingredients.

Jen joined the brewery permanently in April this year as Sales and Events Coordinator so more often than not will be the face you'll see when you're buying beer. Jen's favourite Strangers beer is Lone Goose for it's easy drinking, laid back style. Jen is also definitely not Brett's wife.

Thank you so much to everyone who came along yesterday and made it another great day out. I didn’t get much chance to look up from doing complicated beer supply maths but when I did it looked like everyone was having a lovely time.

Nikki Runga once again nailed the food even if “the boss” had to keep a watchful eye over the money side, and Vinyl Spinners Original Collective created the perfect mood with their tunes. If I didn’t say it enough yesterday thank you thank thank you to everyone who helps makes our little pop-up bars a success.

Brett has survived his cycle round Yorkshire and we’ll get him right on making some beer for the next one on 25th September.
