Handwriting isn’t just a school chore; it’s a window into your child’s emotional world.
As a skill trainer and handwriting expert, I see it all the time: a child is struggling silently, but their handwriting is shouting for help.
Anger, irritation, and emotional distress leave a physical footprint on the page. If you know what to look for, you can spot these changes early:
1️⃣ The Pressure Test: Turn the page over. If you can deeply feel the pen strokes on the back, they are writing with extreme tension—a classic sign of suppressed anger or stress
2️⃣ Erratic Baselines: Are their words suddenly jumping up and down off the line? This often mirrors emotional instability or feeling unsettled
3️⃣ Sharp, Angular Strokes: A sudden shift from rounded letters to sharp, aggressive points can signal irritation
