🌿 A Meaningful Journey Towards Preserving Our Desi Seeds 🌱
I had the privilege of visiting the Art of Living Ashram, Bengaluru, on the occasion of the 80th birthday celebration of Sri Ram Krishna Reddy Garu, a pioneer and passionate advocate of organic farming.
During my visit, I had the blessed opportunity to have Darshan of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji and showcase some of the rare desi varieties of vegetables and greens cultivated at iFarms. 🌱🙏
Gurudev Ji showed great interest in these traditional and almost-extinct varieties and enquired about their cultivation and the efforts being made at iFarms to preserve them.
As an individual, and even as an organisation, preserving every one of these precious varieties for future generations is a challenging responsibility. This inspired me to propose contributing these rare and almost-extinct desi seeds to the Seed Bank maintained by Gurudev Ji, where they can be propagated, conserved, and safeguarded for generations to come. 🌾🌱
Our traditional seeds are not merely seeds—they are a part of our heritage, biodiversity, food culture, and the legacy we leave for future generations.
I am deeply grateful to Gurudev Ji and Sri Ram Krishna Reddy Garu for giving me this wonderful opportunity to contribute, even in a small way, towards the conservation of our indigenous seeds and the preservation of nature’s priceless diversity. 🙏🌿
Let us preserve today what our future generations deserve to inherit. 🌱
