Yesterday was Thursday. Thursday means gnocchi.

It’s an old Italian tradition — gnocchi di giovedì — one of those small rituals that nobody quite remembers the origin of, but that everyone keeps doing anyway. At Resta’s, we keep it too.

Made by hand. No recipe card. No measurements. Just the right feel of the dough, learned over time.

Traditions like this one are not decoration here. They are the structure of the week, the rhythm that holds everything together.

Ieri era giovedì. Il giovedì vuol dire gnocchi.

È una tradizione antica, uno di quei piccoli riti di cui nessuno ricorda bene l’origine, ma che tutti continuano a fare lo stesso. Qui alla Fattoria Resta lo facciamo anche noi.

Fatti a mano. Nessuna ricetta. Nessuna dose precisa. Solo la sensazione giusta dell’impasto, imparata nel tempo.

Whoever comes here meets them — and quickly understands why this place works.

A farm is land, trees and old walls. But mostly it’s the people holding it up.

September is here.

The light has changed, the shadows are longer, and Resta is slowing down.

To everyone who was here, thank you. We’re grateful to have shared this summer with you: a full house, long tables, time that seemed to slow down.

This is what makes Resta what it is.

The figs are ready. The heat has softened. The hills have turned from gold to amber and the evenings are long enough to sit outside and watch it happen.

September is, quietly, the best month to be here.

The summer crowds are gone. The light is lower and warmer. The garden is still giving, and the pace of the days feels exactly right.

If you’ve been thinking about coming, this is the moment.

I fichi sono pronti. Il caldo soffocante è un lontano ricordo. Le colline hanno il colore dell’ambra e le serate sono abbastanza lunghe da sedersi fuori a godere di questa luce.

Settembre è il mese migliore per essere qui.

Il trambusto dell’estate è finito. La luce è più bassa e più calda. L’orto è ancora generoso e il ritmo delle giornate è lento e calmo.

No city lights, no noise — just the sky opening up and, if you’re patient enough, a streak of light crossing it in less than a second. The Perseids pass through every year at this time, and every year people stop what they’re doing to watch.

Step outside. Look up. The sky is doing something worth seeing.

Ad Agosto, a Resta si respira una magia particolare.

Nessuna luce di città, nessun rumore — solo il cielo che si apre e, se si ha abbastanza pazienza, una scia di luce che lo attraversa in meno di un secondo. Le Perseidi passano ogni anno in questo periodo, e ogni anno le persone si fermano a guardarle.
