A 3,500-year-old tradition in every bite 🌽
Me Hiko tortilla chips are made using nixtamalised corn, a process with roots in ancient Mesoamerica, modern-day Mexico, and Central America- with the earliest strong archaeological evidence dating back to around 1500–1200 BC. First used by early Olmec civilisations, then refined by the Maya and Aztec, nixtamalisation has been unlocking deeper corn flavour for thousands of years.

The word nixtamal even comes from Nahuatl: nextli meaning lime or ash, and tamalli meaning cooked maize dough. It’s an ancient method, and the reason our chips have that authentic flavour and signature crunch.
