Something new is happening at WaterGuard — and we’re pretty excited about it.

These pictures show the newest addition to our showroom in Athens, TN: a full working whole-home system on display.

You’ll be able to walk right up to it and see every part out in the open, so you can see exactly how it works instead of just hearing us talk about it.

And the sink is my favorite part. One side gives you regular municipal tap water. The other gives you fully treated water — filtered and softened. Same faucet. You get to see it, feel it, and taste the difference yourself.

The most important part of a water system is usually the one nobody notices.

The first picture is this full install at a home in Athens, TN on a private well. See the circle? That’s the sediment filter.

The second picture is that same filter 24 hours later.

Every bit of that gunk was getting through to the water this family uses every day — drinking, cooking, showering, laundry. Now it’s stopped right there at the sediment filter.

It’s also protecting the rest of the system. Sediment is hard on a water softener and makes a UV system’s job harder. Catching it first keeps that equipment working the way it was designed to.

Again — that’s only 24 hours.

See that brown water? It's supposed to be clear.

We just replaced this filtration tank at a well-water home in Reliance, TN, and we're dumping out the old media — the stuff inside the tank that actually cleans the water.

This well has ferric iron in it. A correctly sized tank flushes that iron out every time it backwashes, so the media stays clean and keeps working.

This tank was too small for this water. It couldn't clean itself, the iron built up over the years, and it destroyed the media. That's what you're watching pour out.

The equipment didn't fail. The sizing did — because the system was installed without an accurate test of what was actually in the water.

If you're on well water: get an accurate test before anyone sells you a system. It's the only way to know what type you need and what size.
