Chili hatched 10 babies last week! Looks like an assortment of colors 🙃They are doing great, Chili is an old pro. Of course, 2 days before Chili's babies hatched, Bingo decided to start setting 😆

The farm stand will be CLOSED until July 9th.
I apologize for any inconvenience this causes anyone, but for a number of reasons, including the ADGA National Show and my sanity, it makes more sense for us to stay closed during this time!

A belated update!

Last Thursday-Sunday Joey & I traveled to the North Country Showcase and its new location at the Hillsborough County 4-H Fairgrounds in New Boston, NH. I have been part of the NCS show committee since the beginning, and it is an event that I am proud to be a part of. Four years ago a group of friends and I got the crazy idea to start a six ring show-goats get judged six times by six different judges over the course of a weekend! It is fast paced, fun, and a great bang for your buck to be able to get six opinions in one place! The show includes a doeling raffle, "Bucket of Dough" dry yearling class, a raffle table, potluck, and this year we added youth showmanship. It is A LOT of work, but our organizational committee and volunteers get it done!

With Nationals being so close and knowing I would be extremely busy, we elected to leave milkers at home and only brought 5 kids plus our raffle kid! While I love to show, it was nice to not have to worry about getting goats to the ring, prepping them, or milking while I was secretarying, checking people in, emptying trash cans, etc🤣Joey was a huge help all weekend, too!

We brought out our youngest babies that hadn't shown yet as well as the March twins, Helena and Mem, that I have been trying to "figure out", and Yolo, who is Joey's showmanship doe this year. No big ribbons, but happy with how they did in pretty decent sized classes!

Speaking of which, we were so happy to send our raffle kid, EDEN-MADE JKT RUBY SLIPPERS home with her new family! Her new owner was a fantastic supporter of our show this year and we were so pleased that Ruby ended up in a great home!

I didn't really get any pics, but snapped one of the New Boston sign while out for a run Friday before the madness started!

A little start! We are actually ahead of schedule. A couple days of showers and we then we will see what's next!

We will be looking for people who want to buy FIRST CUT out of the field. These are softcore rounds that generally sit between a 4x5 and a 5x5, about 500 lbs. $50 each. If we have to haul home and put in the barn the price will go up, and we do not have space to store for people long term over the winter to buy a few at a time, sorry. Get 'em while the getting is good!

I know I haven't been posting much-it is much easier to maintain social media during the boring Maine winter 🤣🤣

The past few weeks have been CRAZY, as I was on show committees for two of the largest shows in New England, showing, haying, vet visits both at offices and the farm, prepping for nationals, plus all the day-to-day and simply trying to survive 🫠

My house is not clean, I've been eating junk, and putting a lot of miles on my vehicles😅 we leave for nationals 2 weeks from Saturday!

So for now all you get is a kitty pic!

*the kitties are all spoken for & we have a waiting list-if you are looking for a kitten I highly recommend you check your local shelter! Mama has her spay appointment coming up so no more after this!!
