The 2026 show season has come to an end. 5 months that can seem so long when you aren't home every weekend, but when you look back, it seems like they flew by in a flash! These are our ADGA and Specialty ribbons from this season.

Yes, we won some ribbons and they are fun to look at and remember the wins. However, these colorful ribbons matter much less than what goes into them. We pour our heart and soul into this farm and these animals, 24/7. There are no holidays, no sick days. We live and breathe our farm and do our BEST to give our critters the BEST so they can be their BEST!

The 4-H motto is "making the best better." I might be all grown up and aged out of 4-H now, but I think that is really what showing is all about-making YOUR best BETTER. Every year we plan, experiment, and roll with the punches to grow, learn, and improve.

This year was definitely one for the books. Our first Nationals, Joey getting serious about showmanship, and loads of memories to tide us over until 2027.

In the meantime, I will be counting down the days til May!

Joey won the NERGDGA Sportsmanship Award

We didn't show any Saanens at this show! We did bring Diva but decided to scratch with the show unofficial and get a headstart on our drive home (3 hours & change).

Thank you to the show committee, and we had the best secretary & ring steward! We appreciate everyone who helped us show, hold animals, lug things, etc etc. You all made it a great day!

The judge at fryeburg fair told Joey he lost points in showmanship because his goat wasn't clipped. I didn't clip for open either.

We made that decision because we had nightly temperatures in the 30s by that time and I am glad we stuck to that!

** to be clear I am NOT ragging on the judge, according to the scorecard, allowances can be made for weather but those were her words to him 🤷‍♀️. I thought she was an excellent judge and he is not upset about the placing, nor was it the only reason he got the placing he did! He knows and understands all of this and is totally okay with it. This was intended to be a comment on the temps most of all!

GO(AT) TEAM!

There is a lot to love about our local community of goat peeps. The term "goat family" gets used a lot, and really, it's the most accurate way to describe it. We can definitely have spats, drive each other crazy, and get competitive, but they are always the ones who have your back anyway!!

Joey and I got turned around and ended up adding 40 minutes to our driving time to Sandwich Fair. That meant we arrived late and were unable to drive the trailer onto the grounds to unload.

We had barely parked when a herd of goat people were at the truck, asking what they could lug. They carried all our supplies, shuffled goats, filled water buckets, and hung hay bags. They made it so we were able to prep our girls and be on time for our classes, as grades showed first.

Emma DiPompo snapped these pics as we were all schlepping and I think it just goes to show how special this way of life really is! Eternally grateful to raise my son in it!! Thank you all for making it possible!

And just like that, the 2026 show season is over 😭
We'll be counting down the days til May, but in the meantime, breeding season and planning for the future will be our focus!

Results from our last show to come soon!
