Meet Antonio Vargas one of the creators behind our bar at Southern Smoke Festival.

After serving in the Marines, Antonio began his bartending career at the Dallas Country Club, where he learned the craft and created the foundation for a career in hospitality.

Today he’s a business owner and founder of Style Bender Bartender, where he creates community experiences grounded in good drinks and good people.

From custom bar menus and signature cocktails to fresh-squeezed juices, Antonio brings intention and creativity to every event. Inspired by bartenders and cocktail culture around the world, he’s bringing that same level of craft and artistry to Dallas and Houston in his own way.

Meet Gina Chávez

An Austin native and bilingual Latin-folk singer-songwriter, Gina Chávez has made a lasting mark on Austin’s music scene. She is a sixteen-time Austin Music Award winner and, in 2015, April 2nd was officially proclaimed Gina Chávez Day in Austin.

We were stoked see her performance at Radio East last weekend from our trailer -- serving drinks to the crowd and catching a show from an artist who truly makes Austin’s cultura what it is.

A little bit of México in the heart of Houston.

Eight towering, 20-foot alebrijes and nahuales have arrived at Discovery Green, bringing Mexican magical realism, Mesoamerican folklore, and the incredible craftsmanship of Mexican artists to life.

The Autumnal Equinox arrives on Tuesday, September 22, marking the official astronomical start of fall.

Twice a year, during the spring and autumn equinoxes, the ancient Maya city of Chichén Itzá comes alive with one of the world’s most remarkable celestial phenomena.

As the afternoon sun moves across El Castillo, seven triangles of shadow gradually form along the northern staircase, creating the illusion of Kukulkán, the feathered serpent, descending from the temple.

A reminder of the deep connection between the Maya, the cosmos, and the natural world.

Here’s to honoring the wisdom, traditions, and cultures that continue to inspire us.
