It turns out a tractor is the trick to getting little boys of ALL kinds to stand still for a moment!..

I'm thrilled to share my two new junior herdsires - Hoanbu YJ Yukon Pilot and Au Bel Highlight Ranger!

Hoanbu YJ Yukon Pilot's sire needs no introduction - Tempo Aquila Yukon Jack! He's a 2x National Show Premier Sire, and his progeny include two National Champions and a Reserve National Champion! Pilot's dam - Hoanbu JT Pasta Pesto was the '24 National Junior Champion! I've admired her since 2024, and she is even more beautiful in person! Pilot is the light cham.

Au Bel Highlight Ranger is a homebred boy sired by an AI throwback - Cherry Glen Radical Highlight! Highlight's the son of a National Champion and was consigned in the 2002 Spotlight Sale. However, his most notable accomplishment, of course, was being featured in my 2004 Silver Award-winning High School FFA Demonstration project! 🤣 Ranger's dam is the matriarch of the Au Bel herd - GCH Redwood Hills L Robin. Ranger is the dark cham, who looks just like his dad! 🥰

Holding joy and grief in the same hand... it's not for sissies! But these two girls bring me JOY!

Especially when they run to the gate together on a beautiful, sunny morning! They will be staying here, these Irish Valley girls are lifers! Saanen Missy's Magnolia and Lamancha Saga's Sabina. 🥰

As many of you already know, my dear friend Kate (Gosnell) Puglia has gone home to her Lord and Savior after courageously battling aggressive liver cancer. I first met Kate at Faith Community Christian School. She was a year younger than me, but our school was so small that every other year we were classmates. When I was in 2nd grade, and she was in 1st, is when we can mark the beginning of our story as "old friends."

Our friendship grew deeper when her family welcomed me into their barn, and developed my love of livestock - originally POA ponies, but swiftly all attention turned to dairy goats. We both took a break from breeding and showing to pursue other adventures, but I'm so glad the embers we both felt toward these animals rekindled our old friendship in recent years. Being entrusted with the care of much of her beloved Irish Valley Dairy Goats herd as she fought cancer has been one of the highest honors of my life.

In every season on the farm, I will see you and miss you, Kate. 💔 Please keep her family in your prayers.

When last year's babies are bucket envious of this year's babies! 🤣

I promise I will get pictures of available animals posted when things slow down, but I know I will have an Alpine buck kid (a Willow Run Chevalier Ruffian son!) and a fullblood Boer buck kid (a Westfall's Man of Mystery son!). PM me if either sound interesting!

I will likely have more when everyone is done kidding and pens are bursting! 🤣😵‍💫
