Ahhh so excited to finally have our first yarn finished. We've been waiting 2 years for this batch. Thank you Windy Acres for processing our home grown wool for us! We have wool at two other mills too that we will hopefully get before the end of the year.

If you are looking for some beautiful CVM or Border Leicester yarn for your own project or as a gift with the holidays coming up send us a message!

I'll be back to posting the rest of the goats soon 😅. But in the meantime breeding pens for the sheep were sorted today and Super Fast Spider Dragon wants you to know he's ready and getting his job done lol.

Our list is underway, so send me a message if you are looking for ewe or ram lambs in the spring. We will have registered CVM and Border Leicesters available.

We had a great time at the Michigan Fiber Festival! So thankful to have this festival and sheep show so close to home. My mom attends the show with us every year and we love hanging with our sheep friends.

CVM Results:
Iris 2nd place yearling ewe
Aster 3rd place yearling ewe
And they were 1st place yearling ewe pair

Spiderwort (Senna's lamb) who sold this spring was 2nd place Junior ram lamb

The Junior ewe lamb class we had a nice showing of ours and lambs we sold!
Marigold's lamb was 2nd, owned by Hard Rock Farm
Celery's lamb was 5th, owned by a youth!
Wasabi's lamb was 6th
Jacosta's lamb was 8th, owned by Hard Rock Farm
Poppy's lamb was 9th

And lastly we brought home our new ram lamb from from Far Crick Farm, facilitated by our good friend Heidi Hileman. This ram lamb was 1st place Senior Ram Lamb.

Congratulations to everyone in attendance!
I took zero photos but Naomi Kamphuis was there and we can wait to see our ringside photos and portraits!

The token Lamancha of the farm "Whiskey". She was a 4yr old 2nd freshener this year. She had a hoof injury in 2024 so we left her open to heal etc. So catching up in production. Shes dry now but a big producer. Fingers crossed our LapAI plans take this year.

I scheduled a post and it disappeared somewhere 😅. So next goat tomorrow!

Also- who's going to be at the Michigan Fiber Festival?!?! I don't have any sheep for sale this year but I do have a couple fleeces left if anyone would like to pick them up from the show. Or get on my lamb list for 2027! We will have Border Leicester lambs again 🥰 and of course CVM.

Next doe of the day is a favorite of mine, "VI". You can literally set a cup on her rump sooo level and flat. She's sassy like her mom was, but that's part of the Alpine charm. VI is getting bred to Mina's sire this year for French kids. She's a 3yr old 2nd freshener, but milking like a FF since I didn't milk her at all last year. Good things to come!

3 yr old 2nd freshener QMF Summer Azure aka "Sky" has a milk production pedigree and she's no slouch either. Unfortunately, when she ramped up this spring her foreudder had other ideas. Fingers crossed for a daughter from our AI plans because I'd love to keep these genetics here. Sky will be available in the spring as a family milker or brood doe so shoot me a message if you are thinking about adding a big producer to your farm.

Up next is "Mina" FVF Mina de Oro, she didn't take last year so she's just been hanging around being a fat 2yr old. She will be bred to QMF Papa Legba this fall for French Alpine kids. Mina was shown as a kid and placed 2x 1st place and 1x 2nd place at the Mitten Maddnes show (3 rings). She injured 1 wattle this spring so thats why she just has one dangling 🤣

Last keeper doeling of the year!
FVF Salt Pond For the Birds (pending) aka "Crouton" is one of 2 American Alpines here. She has a stacked pedigree but hopefully the wait on her great grandsire's DNA will be over soon. She is a junior doeling.
