Wishing Tree Farm

Wishing Tree Farm Wishing Tree Farm is the former Hunter Landing Equestrian! Here is to a new chapter! www.WishingTreeFarm.com "Happy horses are those with full bellies."

Hunter Landing is situated on 38 acres and is a facility designed for top-quality horse boarding, horseback riding lessons, training, sales, horseshows, clinics, and summer camp programs. While we welcome all disciplines, hunter/jumper and equitation disciplines are the primary focus - it's what we're good at! We are located just minutes from Sylvan Beach, conveniently between Utica and Syracuse,

with easy access from Rome, NY and the New York State Thruway. "Shady Maples Stable" was founded by Mary and Dale McCall in 1997. The McCall's worked hard and passionately to make the property what it is today, which is still filled with great people and horses alike. The farm was purchased in 2011 by Jason and Kelly Lasher under the new name of "Hunter Landing Equestrian," with plans to improve the property and what it has to offer, from great, to even better!

✨️We are so excited for our $500 Mary McCall & Nate Vanderlan Hunter Derby tomorrow!!✨️ This will be a Hunt and Go format inside the ring. It will take the place of the Open Hunter Derby on the schedule. This class is sponsored and inspired by Grace Haven Farms LLC, additionally by Toni Curro Vanderlan, and lastly, Wishing Tree Farm. Bring your best as this will be a beautiful tribute to those two wonderful people that will be watching from above with a smile no doubt.

We cannot wait to welcome Tracy Percival Forman as our judge!

We are not anticipating an enormous show this time around, so the day should move along and we will be done well before dark.

Come hungry and visit our food stand as well! 🍴 Arena is dry - could have even used some more rain.

Ten horses and eleven riders hit the mountains this year!!

Seven thoroughbreds, one warmblood, a pony, and a mystery creature with wings.

We were all without not enough sleep but the same passion. Everyone worked so hard to get there, and everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, rode well or had some challenge to overcome.

Lily Gillette and her horse Spidey senses have progressed beyond what you could ever imagine - they sailed in the jumpers and really clicked this week! The sky is the limit.

Peyton Gabriel and her two horses, Offlee Lucky...I mean, Offlee Cloudy, and Skinnydipper stepped up in a big, big way. Offlee Cloudy isn't recognizable to where he started from, just learning his new job, and Skinnydipper jumped around better than I have ever seen her because she was piloted so well, getting better by the day.

Danielle Meisenhelder shined in the ring. The judge radioed that, "I think I remember them from last year," but in a good way, I am certain. An unconventional little horse here with a great big try and a rider and owner that believed in her above all else.

McLaren Lasher jumped her pony around at the pony's first ever rated show. This pony was basically feral when we got her. Undersaddle for less than a year now, she jumped around the 2' and 2'3" -- with a lead change -- blending in quite nicely with the seasoned horses and riders. She got many ribbons, but most notable a second in a huge under saddle class.

Kendyl Allen did absolutely phenomenal on Smeauxkinitup. I took him for a spin or two myself. He came off the track last August and kept his head together, got lead changes, and jumped around like he had been there before. Kendyl - you are a BEAUTIFUL rider. He came out 3rd in a large USHJA o/f class.

Lindsay Lewis and Amanda Jones will be headed to the Retired Racehorse Project in October, last having raced in November of last year. Commando Joe was MOST excellent. These ladies have done quite a stand up job with this horse.

Jennifer Reynolds switched gears last minute to a new horse, and did it with her chin held high! I was quite proud of her for that, and so thankful to Jaycee Fields for offering her horse. JJ returned later in the week on Mampo and had some beautiful moments in the ring.

Jaycee Fields put trust in her hard work and stepped up confidently to the 2'6" hunters. Way proud of her riding and she had some nice ribbons earlier in the week in some big classes. Her horse, Risky Woods, jumped WAY good.

I pulled The Nightwatchman out for his and mine comeback tour, and it was absolutely awesome.

To my clients and students - I am so grateful for you. Thank you for trusting me to help reach those goals! ❤️

Horses were all fantastic, as was Janice and karaoke, and the food by chef Kasia Sweredoski Gillette was absolutely delicious!

Say WHAT?!?! Please 🅢🅗🅐🅡🅔 🅢🅗🅐🅡🅔 🅢🅗🅐🅡🅔!!

We had a secondary sponsorship that just raised the stakes!! This is going to be SO good!!

Thank you now both to Grace Haven Farms LLC and Toni Curro Vanderlan! We are also honoring the McCall's good friend, Nate Vanderlan. We had the privilege of meeting Nate in the later years and getting to know him a bit, also while caring for his and his daughter's horses. He was a good man and we are honored to have his name be part of this very special class!

Who is as excited as we are?! Please share!!

August 1st!!!

Mary McCall was a cornerstone of this farm, the matriarch, when it was once known as Shady Maples. We agreed that it would be a perfect day to honor her memory.

Grace Haven Farms LLC will be sponsoring this class!

Industrywide participation in The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Traceability Survey is critical to ensuring we have an accurate understanding of Thoroughbreds beyond racing.

The survey is open now but will close tomorrow, June 30th.

If you own, lease, or board a retired or unraced Thoroughbred or a broodmare, taking a few minutes to report that horse's status is an important part of that effort. You may also include additional details to help build a more complete picture of Thoroughbreds beyond racing.

If you have not already completed the survey, please do so: registry.jockeyclub.com.

This data directly supports stronger aftercare programs and reinforces the industry's commitment to responsible ownership and lifetime care.

If you have questions, The Jockey Club Registry can be reached at [email protected].
