Moderation Brewing is a modern establishment that hearkens back to pre-prohibition time when small breweries were the favored gathering spots in neighborhoods. Locals came at the end of a long day for freshly brewed beer, conversation, and maybe a jug of brew for the road. Politicians plied their trade with constituents here, greasing the skids of legislature with alcohol—within moderation, of cou

Open today from 12 - 4 pm! (Last call at 3:30 pm) will be slinging dogs and meatball subs. You all drank a lot of beer 🍻 the last two days. Thank you for all of your support! We will be closed tomorrow to regroup. Then open on Tuesday for our first ever Trivia in the new space! Then we will be open again on Friday for another weekend of system checks aka soft openings. Today’s the day: Soft Opening!! We will be opening those really big doors.

Where: Our new digs at 21 Town Hall Place, Brunswick, Maine

Please come join us and see the new space in progress. We have four beers on draft, a new wine list, our new cheese board program needs your feedback, and we have a kickass hot dog cart on site. Help us come work out the quirks of this new space and chapter! 🍻

That’s a wrap! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the last days of Moderation on Maine Street. We didn’t take enough pictures but snagged some selfies after we closed the doors for the last time. If you got any good photos, please send them our way. It’s hard to believe it’s been eight years. 🤯 As a reminder we are closed today and until we open the big beautiful doors at 21 Town Hall Place. If you’re seeing this post and are wondering what the hell we’re talking about, read our post that’s linked below ⬇️ in the comments. Since the Central Fire Station project was approved, I have both been dreading and excited to write this part. For something new to begin, something often has to end. I won’t bury the lede: this Thursday - Saturday (May 14th - May 16th) will be our last days open at 103 Maine Street. Please come join us and help us celebrate this space. Come share a memory, stock up on beer, help us save up some money for the next chapter, and be patient if we look extra emotional behind the bar.

Looking around this tasting room as I write this, I understand my complicated feelings. Eight years ago I remember my panic as I took a leap of faith with my best friend, Philip Welsh, and signed away all my life savings to purchase a very old building (a hair salon at the time) and told my family and everyone I knew that it would make an excellent brewery. As I signed my name on paper after paper after paper, I kept myself centered by imagining what adventures and stories would happen at the future home of Moderation Brewing. Little could I have imagined just how much would happen within these four walls.
