Why yes this is my 5 litters in my house… and here is my story about my land sharks.
These are all my current under a week babies still too delicate to be out if the fur jungles their moms have made.
I had some big tragedy hit with my first kindle this grouping. I lost my precious land shark mama Cougar Run’s Prius. I found her just before she passed. Lost her and two kits in an unexpected passing. There was one single little black otter kit in the nest that was now my youngest kit and without siblings to keep it warm or a mama to raise it.
My closest litter was a week old rex and they are already triple its size if not bigger.
It has been a journey keeping this little one going. I had 3 silver moms expecting which I was banking on. They are amazing foster moms and up until now, never had many kits.
I left little one tucked in with some extra hair i had added in its nest while I waited for moms to pop.
Fast forward to later that evening. PBRs Navi kindled!! My daughters silver fawn doe. Whom I didn’t even think was pregnant but gave her a box just in case 😒 I saw little tuffs of hair all over her cage and got excited. Pulling out the box… there was my little brits saving grace… as I counted 9! Silver kits with a maiden mom, my heart sank, but it would be warm! Overnight little brit went into the fawny furnace!
The next morning I had another litter, silver mama Burkhalter’s Raticate. Shes a cobra but the best mom and foster mom. She had 6 this litter, her last one was 3, which was roughly what I was expecting. These ladies! Well better than 9! Little brit went into another fawny, less furnace lol. The cobra immediately went to investigate…. Approved and fed wee ones. I felt satisfied it would be okay for the next night.
Come the next day, my last silver mama Lowe’s O124 “Midna” I found with one single kit on the wire it was cold sadly. I wasnt convinced she was even pregnant either. She was acting like she wasnt. She pulled minimal fur, no more kits but I left the box. I had a thought. And its not my first rodeo trying this.
Leaving the box overnight, moms whom have lost their litters tend to pull more fur and line it well hoping the warm the babies that are no longer there. I had a very big silver litter that could use some fostering off and one special brit baby that needed a little more tlc than being number 7!
The next day “Midna” has lined the box well, I pulled 3 of the smallest silvers from viper number two (Navi) and got out my FAT brit baby (thank you Raticate ❤️) so my work is now done. “Midna” immediately inspected her noisy nest and fed her newly acquired children promptly.

I have given them their best chance. Now its up to mommas and my strategic shelving to make sure we get through this heat spell together! 🙏
