Bare Roots Family Farm is a small family farm established in 2016. It all came from wanting to feed our family better, healthier food...and from there, we grew!! We offer ethically raised meats...Pork, Chicken, Beef and Duck. All animals are raised on our clean pastures (never any pesticides, herbicides, etc.) and are supplemented with locally sourced (Greenwich, NY) GMO free grains! We also offer

pork halves and wholes, and beef sides and quarters a few times a year. keep an eye on our FB page and we'll advertise when they are available. Don't forget about your Thanksgiving Turkey! In the Spring we have piglets and chicks available for purchase as well. You can come see us at the farm, or one of our farmers markets. In 2022 we hope to have our greenhouse up and running so we can share some lovely veggies as well. We also hope to be able to to have your families visit us for a farm tour...we may even have some classes for you to participate in...Stay tuned

It's a Pulled Pork kinda Monday!
One big butt, and a shoulder roast (we like leftovers) in the crockpot at 7am. Just add whatever spices you want as a rub, add a little apple cider vinegar to the crock. Then... Set it, and forget it!!

I made Coleslaw using Carpenter Farm veggies... Added Kinders Hickory Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce, and that's dinner!

I didn't feel like a sandwich. So, I made mine into a wrap... Yum😊

Need a super simple meal idea?
Butternut Squash
Apples
Bulk Sweet Italian Sausage

The hubby put the squash and apples on the smoker the other day. It's not necessary, but it adds a smokey flavor.

I cut everything into chunks, cooked the sausage on the stove. Put everything on a pan and popped it in the oven at 350, for 30ish minutes. You would need to bake it longer if the squash and apples haven't been smoked.

Next time I'll probably add some onion. Maybe a tiny bit of browns sugar for some added sweetness... Or just a couple more apples!

You could also use Kielbasa.

They're here!! Miss Koko is such a good Momma. She found a beautiful spot in and under some brush... She must have know some rain was coming. When we checked on her this morning, her area was almost completely dry!!

Community Supported Agriculture
Carpenter Farm has decided to create a fun CSA for 2026 where you get to choose what vegetables you would like each week and you also get to decide if you would like a fresh or dry ($3) herb to complete your package!
Here are the details:
Step 1: You sign up for the most amazingly flexible Summer CSA with Carpenter Farm and pay $350 upfront. (What a bargain!
step 2: You choose which farmers market fits into your schedule ( you can come to a different market each week or the same one every week! We don’t care lol see how flexible we are !)
step 3: You choose 6 vegetables off of our tables or from our coolers! ( That’s right you get to decide what your family will eat each week😳 I know super flexible CSA)
step 4: You choose a fresh herb or a $3 bag of dry herb! ( what an herb each week too🤷‍♀️ I know super fun right!)
step 5: You check out with me and we punch your CSA card that I will keep in a box on the table and you get to laugh with me every week from July through September! 14 weeks total
seriously this might be the best thing you could do for yourself this summer!!! Self love my friends!

Now here’s the most wonderful part of this CSA, if you do not come to pick up your weekly CSA then we will donate it to a family in need or the Mechanicville Free Fridge! So now you’re not regretting your missed pick up but celebrating your generosity!

We have this handsome guy who's ready to move on from our farm. "Buddy", as the kids call him is super sweet, he's about a year and a half, he is proven, and throws big babies! We don't really need him, but we'd love to see him move on to make more babies!
He is a Berkshire/Hampshire cross, with a little Mangalista in there as well.
