Why Texmaster?

This breed was developed by Onion Creek Ranch by crossing Tennessee Meat Goats with Boer goats to improve meat yield and reduce the maintenance needs often associated with purebred Boers. Created to be a superior commercial meat goat, they are known for heavy muscling, particularly in the rear legs. This breed combines the hardiness and parasite resistance of the Tennessee Meat Goat with the growth rate of the Boer. They are a registered breed, with registrations managed by Pedigree International for those who wish to have registered goats. They are generally stocky, deep-bodied, and thick-set, often displaying color variations from their genetic background. They are known for easy kidding and excellent, attentive mothering skills. They are frequently used as herd sires on other commercial breed does to boost meat quality.
These are the qualities we wanted for our heard and have been happy with the results since owning texmasters.

This is our buck Dobbie 🐐

Born 02/20/2025 during a crazy midwest freeze, we were glad we found him before the temp dropped too much. He did lose a bit off the tips of his ears to frost bite, but otherwise has been 100% healthy and cared for since then. We lovingly bestowed the name Dobbie on him due to his resemblance to Dobbie the House Elf on Harry Potter! And he responds to the name which makes it even better πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

He has grown and filled out so much over the past 15 months, and continues to be quite friendly to us as well. (He knows where the treats and head scratches come from 🀣)

He has gorgeous, two-tone horns with white in the middle and black around the edges. And his coloration consists of mostly white with darker brown spots around his face.

He would make a great addition to any farm wanting to add 100% Texmaster traits into their herd. Contact us with any questions!

The first two photos are recent with his sire, MR Lucky, in the second photo. The other photos are snapshots of his growth over the last year. Enjoy.

Hi there πŸ‘‹ I need a name!! 🐐

This big fella is an only kid from Sophie and Marty this year.
He has a BIG personality, he likes to discover new things by chewing on them and then running away to not get caught. Definitely some sass when he walks up and oh so mischievous! He does not like sitting still for photos but he’s pretty sweet when held.
He is also growing so quickly and filling out nicely! We are looking forward to seeing what kind of buck he will be!
Drop your name suggestions below!!
