The Appalachian Byway’s routes are State Route 78 from Clarington through Monroe Noble, Morgan and Athens Counties ending in Nelsonville; there is also a short portion north on SR 284 to The Wilds in Muskingum County.

🍂 This month is your last chance of the year to experience an open air safari at The Wilds along the Appalachian Byway of Ohio. 🍂

October is here, and in southeastern Ohio, it’s really starting to feel like fall! 🍂🍁

At The Wilds, October is the last month to experience some of our incredible tours, including our most popular – Open Air Safaris! On this 2+ hour long tour, you'll climb onto a tour bus and set out into vast pastures, driving by giraffe, camels, bison, painted dogs, zebras, Przewalski's wild horses, rhinos, banteng, and many other animals.

When paired with an overnight stay at our Hellbender RV Campground or yurts at Nomad Ridge, October can make for the perfect time to visit The Wilds for a weekend trip! On September 29 I’ll be doing a barn tour and a fundraiser in Morgan County - https://www.robertkroeger.com/event/234404/morgan-county-historical-society
The event will take place in the wonderful 19th century Stockport Mill Inn, the last mill left on the Muskingum River, dating to 1842. Please come if you’re in the area. This painting of a Morgan County barn will be in the fundraiser.
