We made it back to OVRHA for the first time in a few years and had such a great time!
Steve and Rebecca focused a lot on schooling young horses and were especially excited to get a few new people in the pen for the very first time 👏
Chris and Kelly Lamb showed their beloved mare Ivory, “DB Cocktail Waitress.”
Chris stepped into the show pen for the first time ever, learned a ton over both days, and by day two was placing just out of the money—great job figuring it out!
Kelly took Ivory into the Rookie without having previously ridden or shown her and had a great run, earning 🥈 Reserve Champion 🥈 in PT Rookie earning 💵. Congratulations! 🎉
Alison Beiler also showed her mare Faith, “Walla Walla Code,” for the first time.
She may be new to reining, but you wouldn’t know it watching her ride—she guided her mare through the pen beautifully. We’re excited to see this team continue to grow at upcoming shows!
Kathleen Donnelly’s homebred c**t Butters, “Chicbait,” got in some great schooling for upcoming shows and came back Sunday to place 🥉 in Novice Horse 2 with Steve. Congratulations, Kathleen!
Steve laid down a beautiful pattern on Travis, “Ruf and Smart,” earning 🥈 Reserve Champion 🥈 in Men’s & Ladies on Friday.
He also rode Sammy, “SamCrowe,” to 🥈 Reserve Champion 🥈 in Novice Horse 1 on Saturday, earning 💵—congratulations to owner Colleen Siadik!
“PD” Tinker Boom, proudly owned by Lee Gregory, was shown by Rebecca. After some schooling at the start of the show, they came back to place 🥈 Reserve Champion 🥈 in the Green Horse class on Sunday, earning 💵. Thank you, Lee, for trusting our program!
“Ironman” (“A Moonlite Smoke”) got some valuable schooling for upcoming shows.
We were also happy to get some of our three-year-olds out and about—getting them comfortable in the show environment as we prep for futurities.
Thank you to OVRHA for a great show—we’re already looking forward to the next one!
