We started out providing quality dairy breed calves to 4Hers and those who want to raise their own beef. Today, we have grown to offer quality beef and dairy breed calves for all purposes; 4H, feeders, future herd producers. If your in the market for a dairy feeder or quality angus or other beef breed calf, please check out what we have to offer. We arent a large base farm and all our calves are hand picked for quality straight from the farm we work with. Prices vary per calf, we arent a bulk dealer...we strive for personal attention. Good info on twin bull/heifer pairs.

A female calf can be born unable to reproduce when her twin is male.

This is called a freemartin. When male and female calves develop as twins, their placental blood vessels can connect, allowing hormones and cells to pass between them. This can interfere with normal reproductive development in the female calf.
About 90% of female calves born twin to a male are freemartins and are infertile.

Monday morning feeding and update:

Calves are days of ups and downs. Progress and feeling absolutely defeated. Over the weekend she would barely eat. She was lethargic. No interest in anything. But together, we battled on. I forced her to stand and move. More probiotic. More supportive care... my guess is she was hungry after not much this weekend. She's still well hydrated so I consider that a plus. I even got some head-butts and waggy happy calf tail shakes. ❣️❤️

Damp and chilly so put on a light "jacket". Also next dose of probiotic and Durazyme paste. As you can see she's over it... and me! 😂😂😂
