State 28 Farm State 28 Farm: Creating a life of intention and growing/creating all things good.

08/29/2026

Marriage is just two people saying “sounds good” when one of them absolutely did NOT listen to the delivery schedule. 😂

Me: “Okay, so first we’re going here, then we need to stop there, then these boxes go there, BUT those boxes go somewhere else, and don’t forget we have to pick up this on the way back…”

Johnie: (eyes rolling into the back of his head)

Meanwhile, I’m over here giving directions like an auctioneer while he’s mentally calculating how many boxes I’m about to cram into the truck. 😂

Running a family farm together is romantic like that. ❤️

But seriously… seeing a truck FULL of State 28 Farm products headed out to our retail partners never gets old. Every single box represents jars made, labeled, packed and loaded with care - and products headed to shelves where YOU continue to support our little farm.

Now… Johnie, are you listening? Because I’m only explaining the delivery schedule 14 more times.
😂

RESTOCK ALERT at Wylie Urban Farm & Market!

We just completed a great State 28 Farm restock, and there is so much goodness waiting for you! The shelves are loaded with our small-batch favorites, the freeze-dried treats have been replenished, and the cooler is stocked with FRESH MICROGREENS!

This week’s microgreen lineup:

🌱 BROCCOLI MICROGREENS
One of our nutritional powerhouses! Broccoli microgreens are rich in vitamins C, K and A and are especially known for containing sulforaphane, a naturally occurring plant compound being studied for its antioxidant and cellular-protective properties.
Try them on eggs, avocado toast, sandwiches, wraps, salads, burgers or blend them into a smoothie.

🌶️ SPICY MIX MICROGREENS
Broccoli + Kale + Kohlrabi + Arugula + Red Cabbage + Mustard
This mix brings the FLAVOR! You get a variety of vitamins, minerals and beneficial plant compounds along with a delicious peppery kick.
Pile them onto tacos, burgers, sandwiches and wraps, toss them into salads or use them to finish soups, grain bowls and roasted vegetables.

🥗 SALAD MIX MICROGREENS
Broccoli + Kale + Kohlrabi + Arugula + Red Cabbage
A colorful, nutrient-dense blend with a milder flavor than our Spicy Mix. It’s an easy way to add fresh greens to practically any meal.
Use them as the base of a salad, add them to sandwiches and wraps, top avocado toast or eggs, or toss a handful onto your dinner plate right before serving.

🌱 PEA SHOOTS
Tender, slightly sweet and wonderfully crunchy! Pea shoots provide vitamins C, A and K along with folate and other beneficial plant nutrients.
They’re delicious in salads, sandwiches and wraps, on avocado toast, with eggs, tucked into spring rolls or added to stir-fries at the very end.

And don’t forget the FREEZE-DRIED GOODIES! We brought a big assortment of fruits, veggies and crunchy treats that are perfect for snacking, lunchboxes, road trips, charcuterie boards or keeping in the pantry for when you need something delicious.

PLUS, take a look at those shelves! We restocked a huge selection of our State 28 Farm artisan jams, boozy jams, pickles, pickled goodies, salsas, sauces, fruit butters and MORE.

If you’ve been waiting for your favorites, now is the time to head to Wylie Urban Farm & Market! Shop local, support your local farmers and stock that pantry while the selection is BIG.

At State 28 Farm, family isn’t just part of our name or our story. Family is at the heart of everything we do.

This farm has always been a family affair, with every generation pitching in wherever they’re needed. From our youngest team member, our Fashionista Farmgirl, bringing plenty of s***k and style, to our beloved Grams, who can still outwork just about all of us in the commercial kitchen, there are family hands behind so much of what we grow, make, pack and share.

Farming and running a small family business isn’t always easy. There are long days, tired feet, early mornings and plenty of moments when everyone has to jump in and get the job done. But there’s also something incredibly special about building something together.

It’s heritage. It’s hard work. It’s teaching the next generation while learning from the generations who came before us.

Little hands might be labeling jars while seasoned hands are stirring a batch of jam. Someone is harvesting while someone else is washing produce, packing orders, loading deliveries or helping in the kitchen. Every jar and every product that leaves State 28 Farm has a little piece of our family behind it.

We’re incredibly proud to be a small family farm - rooted in tradition, working hard today and growing something we hope will continue for generations to come.

And we’re especially grateful for every person who purchases a jar, visits one of our retailers, shops with us at a farmers market, places a wholesale order or simply shares our story. When you support State 28 Farm, you’re supporting a real family and helping us continue doing what we love.

And speaking of family helping out…

Our sweet Grams is absolutely thrilled 😂 to spend her time cutting up hundreds and hundreds of fresh produce items for Johnie to freeze dry. Okay… “thrilled” might be a slight exaggeration but she’s a good sport each week in our commercial kitchen.

From our family to yours, thank you for supporting State 28 Farm.

🚨🚨RESTOCK ALERT🚨🚨

Johnie made a big State 28 Farm delivery to our sweet friends at Wimberley Farm & Ranch in Whitehouse, Texas!

This is truly one of our favorite shops to visit, and not just because they carry our products. Steven and Natalie Wimberley are two of the most genuine, kindhearted people you’ll ever meet, and that same heart is poured into everything they do at their store.

And we have to brag on Natalie for a minute! She is also an incredible farmer, growing beautiful, fresh produce that they sell right there in the store. There’s something pretty special about walking into a local feed store and being able to take home produce grown by the very people standing behind the counter. That connection between farmer, food and community is exactly what supporting local is all about.

Steven and Natalie serve their community with gratitude, purpose and integrity. They genuinely care about helping people and making sure their customers have access to quality products they can feel good about purchasing.

And when you stop by, you never quite know what else you might leave with. A hug, a high five, a prayer, a good conversation or maybe even a greeting from one of their awesome shop dogs!

Wimberley Farm & Ranch is so much more than a feed store. It’s the kind of locally owned business that reminds you why supporting small businesses matters. They know their customers, care about their community and lead with a servant’s heart.

If you’re anywhere near Whitehouse, take the drive, walk through their doors and support these wonderful people. Grab some locally grown produce, browse the store and pick up a few State 28 Farm goodies while you’re there!

We’re incredibly grateful to have our products on their shelves, but even more grateful for the friendship behind it.

It’s an honor to work alongside good people doing good things in their community.

🍒 CHERRY FRUIT BUTTER 🍒

Rich, smooth and bursting with sweet-tart cherry goodness, our State 28 Farm Cherry Fruit Butter is one of those jars you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again.

Fruit butter isn’t just for toast! This delicious little jar can do SO much more:

- Swirl it into oatmeal, yogurt or overnight oats
- Spread it over warm biscuits, toast, English muffins or sourdough
- Spoon it over pancakes, waffles or French toast
- Pair it with brie, goat cheese or cream cheese on a charcuterie board
- Add it to a grilled cheese for a sweet + savory combination
- Use it as a glaze for pork, chicken or roasted vegetables
- Spoon it over cheesecake, pound cake or vanilla ice cream
- Mix it into a vinaigrette for a beautiful cherry dressing
- Add a spoonful to a smoothie
- Or just grab a spoon and eat it straight from the jar. We won’t judge.

Smooth, fruity and incredibly versatile, Cherry Fruit Butter brings a little taste of the orchard to breakfast, dinner, dessert and everything in between.

One jar with so many possibilities!

Bear’s Farm Journal
Week Nine: Apparently, I’m Still a Gremlin

I’ve learned something this week…

Farm life is exhausting. Especially when you have to supervise everybody else doing all the work.

This was a BUSY week. Mommy and Daddy had a huge order going out to one of their favorite grocery stores, which meant loading a whole lot of jars in the Texas heat. I watched everything very carefully. It looked exhausting. Thankfully, I was mostly there for moral support.

Mommy has also been trying to teach me new things. I’m just not particularly interested yet. I do, however, remain VERY interested in using my extremely sharp alligator teeth. Apparently, I’m what they call a “power chewer,” so Mommy bought me special toys. I consider this a win.

And I have even bigger news…

Grumpy Grayson (one of the farm cats) and I are officially FRIENDS! I invited him inside this week and we started the BEST game of chase through the house. We were having such a wonderful time until Mommy ended it. She’s no fun.

She keeps talking about “manners” and says she cannot wait to get me into puppy classes. I’m not entirely sure why. I think I’m doing great.

My big sisters are still teaching me things, too. Scout and I have some serious tug-of-war matches. She’s REALLY strong! Tilly and I had some good couch snuggles, although she apparently does not appreciate me jumping on her while she’s sleeping. How else am I supposed to tell her I want to play?

I also got to visit Mommy’s modern day general store, The Picket Fence, this week! I loved it. Mommy even let me pick out a treat. Daddy was there restocking lots of our State 28 Farm products, too.

We spent lots of time in the gardens this week, too. Mommy is growing pumpkins, and she told me they’re her favorite thing to grow. I’ve been helping supervise, so hopefully we’ll have lots of pumpkins this fall.

There were some really sad days on the farm this week, too. We had some losses that made Mommy very sad. I couldn’t fix it, so I did the only thing I knew to do. I gave her lots of kisses to remind her that I love her. Even if Daddy is still my favorite… don’t tell Mommy.

And speaking of Daddy, we had plenty of our morning coffee time together. No matter how busy things get around here, that’s still one of my favorite parts of the day.

Another week of farm life is officially in the books.

I made a new friend, visited the store, supervised a very important delivery, worked in the gardens, loved on my sisters, comforted Mommy and spent lots of time with Daddy. Not bad for a mischievous gremlin.

Until next Sunday…

Love,
Bear Chaos Pullins
Farm Dog in Training 🐾

P.S. Puppy classes are apparently happening soon. Mommy seems very excited about this.
I am suspicious.
