Dahlias have arrived! (I should have brought more than one bucket)

I told Cale I’d love to figure out a way to do upick dahlias - I just need more fenced space to keep deer out . Fences are probably the biggest need on a farm!

Most Saturday nights go something like this...

"Where do you want to eat?"

"I don't know. Where do *you* want to eat?"

*(45 minutes later, you're still scrolling.)* 😩

Or...

You could spend July 11 at a long table on a North Georgia farm, surrounded by summer gardens, enjoying a five-course dinner made with ingredients that were probably growing here a few hours earlier. ✨

July is peak season around the farm. Tomatoes are showing off. Blueberries are doing their thing. Squash is producing faster than we can keep up. (Seriously. If you know, you know.)

Our Farm Dinner is designed to slow things down for an evening. You'll enjoy:

🌿 Five seasonal courses featuring farm-fresh ingredients
🎶 Live music
🍅 The best flavors of summer in North Georgia
🥂 BYOB if you'd like a favorite wine or drink
🌅 Golden-hour views of the farm and gardens
✨ A chance to gather around the table with good food and good people

The menu includes:

• Summer Squash & Sausage Soup
• Spring Mix Salad with Beets, Cucumbers, Shiitake Mushrooms & Green Goddess Dressing
• Trout Salad with Herb Tartar
• Beef & Tomato Ragu with Grits plus a Seasonal Vegetable Tasting
• Fruit Crisp for dessert

Tickets are $85 per person.

We have 50 seats available and 10 are already spoken for.

If you've been saying, "We need to do something different this summer," this is your sign.

🔗 Reserve your seats before the table fills.

Greenhouse season is over but Farmer's Market season starts Saturday!

Come see us (and lots more great vendors) at Canton Farmer's Market this Saturday, May 30 in Brown Park.

We will have eggs and plants this week. Still a couple/few weeks out for our summer produce.

Time for my annual locally grown veggie PSA post.
TLDR - any tomatoes you are buying from a "Farm Store" now are not grown locally - they are shipped in.

It's summer - kids are out of school and everyone is ready for a tomato sandwich and juicy peaches. I see posts pop up on FB and Nextdoor often about where can I find "fresh from the garden", "locally grown" etc. right now.

If anyone (I don't care if it's a folding table in their front yard) is selling ripe tomatoes (other than maybe some cherry tomatoes) or peaches - they did not grow them.

Nobody around here grew them.

They probably bought them at Dekalb Farmer's Market and those are shipped in from maybe south GA, but also out of state.

Tomatoes won't be ready until late June (maybe earlier this year since it was a warm spring)
Peaches come from our neighbors in the north (Ellijay area) and won't be ready for a few weeks at least.

Late June - early July is when summer produce REALLY is locally grown in Canton, Ball Ground, Jasper, Woodstock, etc.

OK - off my soapbox now.

How are your plants growing?

If you got veggies or flowers from us, post a pic and let us see how they’re doing!

Final week for greenhouse hours! 🌱

Thursday 11 - 5 (celebrating Peyton's 5th Grade Awards that morning)
Friday + Saturday 10 - 5)

If you’ve been meaning to grab tomato plants, sweet peppers, or summer flowers… this is your reminder before we officially wrap things up for the season.

Our vinca and angelonia are blooming beautifully, love the summer heat, and are deer resistant — which honestly makes them overachievers around here.

After this week, we’ll still have some plants available at the Canton Farmers Market starting May 30 or by appointment at the farm.

We’d love to see y’all one more time before greenhouse season ends!
