🎉 Thursday is here, and so is our newest arrival! 🎉

Please help us welcome RR Emma to Hardly Farm! We are incredibly grateful to Thordarson Farms for entrusting us with this beautiful girl, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her join our herd.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Emma is expecting a cria in September 2026 and is bred to Divine Optics! We can’t wait to see what this pairing produces and to follow her journey over the coming months.

✨ Long, silky fiber that hangs in beautiful locks
✨ Often compared to dreadlocks or flowing hair
✨ Rare—only about 10% of alpacas are Suris
✨ Elegant and glamorous appearance

👍 Huacaya
☁️ Fluffy, dense fiber that grows outward
☁️ Looks like a living teddy bear
☁️ Most common alpaca type
☁️ Soft, crimpy fiber perfect for cozy products

Both are incredibly soft, curious, and lovable—but they definitely have different looks!

Meet Juliet! 🦙💕

Juliet is always the first one to greet visitors and one of the friendliest alpacas on the farm. She also makes chores take a lot longer than they should because she insists on stopping for scratches and rubs every chance she gets! If you’re carrying a feed bucket or trying to clean up p**p, Juliet is right there reminding you that giving her attention should be your top priority.

Honestly, we’re not sure who has trained who at this point. 😂

Do you have a pet that makes simple chores take twice as long because they need all the love and attention? ❤️

Thank You, Lord, for the much-needed rain, the cooler temperatures, and the reminder that Your timing is always perfect. 🌧️☁️💚 The pasture is soaking it in, and so are we.

POV: You stepped into the barn and immediately got judged by the alpaca who thinks 95° is a personal attack. ☀️🦙😅

Summer has officially arrived in North Carolina, and while we’re over here melting, the alpacas are doing their best to stay cool after shearing. Plenty of fresh water, shade, fans, and a whole lot of attitude are getting us through these hot days!
