Hamburg Farmers Market day until 1. Beef is back! Pork is well stocked, chicken and turkey are limited.

Perry Farmers Market come stock up today since we'll be gone the next two weeks! Stop and see us and the animals at the Wyoming County Fair (the kids anyway, the grown ups will be in and out all week). 8:30-12:30 in downtown Perry today.

Sometimes, ya gotta do a little R & D.

We love our current processor for pork, we really do. But, they are a nearly two hour drive so taking pigs down and back is a full day... And usually lunch. Now, there's a new processor we've been using for beef this year that is half the distance. We've tried their breakfast links and bacon and really liked them. Different than the usual, but equally good. Tonight we try their mild Italian. We'll see how this is. But even if we do make a change, we still raise our pigs the same exact way as always!

Farm update for 8/6/26:
Why is August zooming so fast? 😮‍💨

Perry Farmers Market friends! We will be there this week 8/8 and then we will miss the next TWO Saturdays due to the Wyoming County Fair. Plan to stock up!

🐄 BEEF IS BACK! I'm picking up the beef today so both Perry Farmers Market and Hamburg Farmers Market will be fully stocked with beef on Saturday! 🎉
🐔 Chicken is VERY LOW! We have halves, wings, and possibly one quartered chicken, and soup bones available. Processing next Wednesday so after that we are good!

See you Saturday!

When life gives you barn swallows in your turkey brooder...

You make adjustments.

So, the 3-week-old chicks that should be out of the brooder, but I goofed on butcher dates and now have an extra week before their pasture is open, are now out in the yard under and around the turkey brooder so we can leave it open for the swallows to finish raising these babies who appear to have hatched in the last 48 hours. And the turkeys will go into the chick brooders inside as soon as they arrive and stay there until A) the swallows fledge or B) the next chicks arrive on the 24th, whichever comes first. It's always something here.
