Itβs easy to want the result. The daily work is where we find out how committed we are to growing.
This morningβs reading in Proverbs 13 reminded me of that:
βThe soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.β β Proverbs 13:4, KJV
I have goals for my horses, my business, and myself. But those goals need something from me today attention, effort, and the willingness to learn.
With horses, that might mean slowing down to make a lesson clearer, improving my own timing, or asking for help when something isnβt working. Just riding more doesnβt automatically mean weβre making progress. We have to pay attention to what our work is teaching.
This chapter also says, βHe that walketh with wise men shall be wise.β Thatβs a reminder to surround ourselves with people who help us grow and stay humble enough to hear what they have to say.
Reading Proverbs each morning has been helping me look more closely at my own choices. Am I following through? Am I accepting instruction? Am I giving the everyday work the same enthusiasm I give the goal?
We wonβt see every result today, but we can do something worthwhile with today.
Thankful for another morning to ride, learn, and put what God is teaching me into practice. π€
