Groundwork has always been something I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. In this video, I’m working with a baby, and it’s obvious she simply doesn’t know any better yet and that’s okay. She isn’t being bad; she’s still learning what’s expected of her.

This is why getting it right from the beginning matters so much. Teaching her to respect my space, respond to pressure, and move her feet when asked will set her up for success throughout her entire life.

Groundwork isn’t about creating fear or forcing respect. It’s about establishing clear communication, healthy boundaries, and mutual trust. The lessons we teach them on the ground will follow them into the saddle and every other part of their lives. A good foundation makes everything that comes next a little easier.

Motivation may get you started, but discipline is what keeps you going.

You won’t always feel inspired. Some mornings you’ll be tired, discouraged, or tempted to wait for a better day. But growth happens when you keep showing up, doing the work, and trusting God..even when you don’t feel like it.

Motivation comes and goes. Discipline creates consistency, and consistency produces results.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” —Galatians 6:9
