Today Ben was able to represent Pickaway county at the Ohio State fair with his county woodworking project. He went up against 87 4-H kids. Such a great opportunity. While at the fair we got some maple and oak seedlings and Joel and I spent the evening celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary by planting them. Maybe one day our great grandkids will sit under those trees😊

How does a middle school football player work out on off days? He carries 60lb buckets of honey up steep basement steps. Good workout, good labor.

We feel so blessed! This is the first year we have ever harvested twice in one season. We harvested over 100 lbs of honey on July 3 and after looking in our hives this week, saw that the bees were bursting at the seams with capped honey. Honey is still flowing through the strainer overnight so stay tuned for the count!

We chose one of the hottest days in Ohio to harvest; July 3. We have never harvested this early before but the supers were getting full and we were running out of equipment. Loving the taste of this spring honey the bees made, very light and mild. If you’re interested in some local honey, reach out!

We placed a new security system near our front door today and by the looks of the Amazon delivery man I think it’s going to be effective.
