Busy day. Full morning at the farmers market. Joel called in the afternoon; he was catching another one of our own swarms. Packed up the farmers market, ate dinner. Got a call to help someone with a swarm on their property. I guess we were as busy as bees today.

This cute Emelyn woke up early and helped me set up the market stand. Pretty proud of her and I for getting the canopy up in the wind, just the two of us. Sun is coming out so stop by to say hi. Lots of vendors and food trucks. Beautiful flowers for those women in your lives.

A dear friend hired Reina to sew some curtain panels she could use to make roller blinds for her ginormous farmhouse windows. She was pleased with the work Reina did and they turned out beautiful. So proud of her using a talent she has worked to develop.

Whoever doubts the existence of the Lord has likely never been a beekeeper. Today I worked with one of the largest swarms I ever have and on a windy day. I set up the box and started scooping handfuls of bees in. Then I gave our little tree a nice shake. Of course a quarter of the bees missed the box and went on the ground. I stand back and see them buzzing around working together to try and find their way either back to the tree, or hopefully into the box. I’ve never had luck in the many swarms I caught finding and seeing the queen. It’s just too chaotic for me. I keep watching the bees fly around and then I look on the ground to see how many are left. There she is, the Queen. Literally none other like her in a population of thousands. Where the circumstances seem nearly impossible to find her. I get excited, but don’t dare take a picture for fear of taking my eyes off her for one second and losing her. I scoop her up and place her in the box, knowing that soon the rest will follow. Oh how I know, the Lord looks for me in unseemingly impossible circumstances, watches and observes me, helping improve my conditions so I can get safely home. Rachel and I sometimes sing a song with the lyrics “ How can you not see God in every little thing? How can you not?”
