As we close out our week on our final Dolly Day I'm overcome with the goodness I've seen posted through the week. "Everyone Loves Dolly" was the closing line to our gold bound biography book about her. It's very clearly obvious that's a true statement that we can see and believe now more than ever.

She brought people together, loved every soul for who they were and always chose to see the good in the world. I've loved showing clips to the kiddos and watching them myself of her claiming her faith and sharing her love for Jesus with all of us. And then there's her melodic voice of an angel, as unique as she was a person. What's not to love?
Everyone. Loves. Dolly.

We are no exception here at Farmschool.

Thank you for a life time of the musical and other talent gifts you left us with Dolly. But more than the music we are thankful for the way you taught us to love people and ourselves.
Happy Homecoming! 🦋

Thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with the amazing teachers over at our big sister school Farmschool at Lolly and Pop's.

Miss Amanda and I love a morning chat in the hours before our day begins and this morning we said it at the same time just seconds into our phone call, "We are going to pivot and do Dolly Day!"
Nothing fills my heart more knowing there's a kindred spirit who sees this teaching thing the same way. Because Dolly was, and is, important and her legacy is worth teaching this next generation about. We can learn so much from her gracious spirit and we love enjoying the gifts she shared with the world!

We love you guys!

Stay tuned for our table time dancing video, these kiddos loved learning her 9-5 hit!

It's no secret that here at Farmschool we pivot from our daily lessons whenever we feel the need to spend some time with life events, interest points of the kiddos or anything that seems to really grab our attention.

After the palpable loss of one of the brightest lights in our world yesterday, The Dolly Parton, we are throwing out our lesson and the remainder of our week will be Dolly Day for the remaining 2 classes. We spend some time each year teaching a lesson on her Coat of Many Colors and her servant heart amongst all the other amazing things she does but today it felt right to start those lessons early in the year.
We will smile together, Miss Sierra will probably shed a few tears, and sing with our loudest voices in honor of this wonderful icon and her gifts to our world.

Dolly we will always love you. We praise the Lord for what we know is a spectacular homecoming you're having in heaven with your family gone before you and the countless lives you touched in your life.

We don't sacrifice any foundational learning here at Farmschool. We simply find the ways to take it outside of the classroom.

Beautiful things happen when kiddos are left to learn in wide open spaces!

We have a lot of new friends here since starting our first week of farmschool! We thought we'd make an official Welcome!

Welcome to a world where kids get to live out loud. Welcome to messy, to chaos, to learning through play!

Our little corner is filled with learning all about life through hands on experiences. We teach the preschool basics here but we know there's more important lessons going on too.

We see these farmers learn confidence through independence, they learn responsibility and to have determination.
They find out what it's like to be apart of a team, a family, and how to be dependable for the animals and their peers!
All of these and so so much more and we get to do it all while celebrating each other and learning how much Jesus loves us!

So many good things going on in our little valley and we are so glad you're here.
Welcome to the farm!

What a dream! Starting year 3 walking out to a circle drive is a "Made It" moment!

This improvement has completely transformed our drop off and pick up experiences, especially our morning routine! We get kiddos out of cars with boots and gloves on twice as quickly and that means more time for the important stuff like playing, learning and doing!

Under different circumstances, I think I'd be doing cartwheels out to those cars! 🤣🤸🏽‍♀️

Welcome to Farmschool, where we let nature play the main stage role in learning!

Yesterday the farmers practiced their cutting and gluing skills by creating this masterpiece on the porch before pick up. We love sitting back and watching their work take form and come together!

We had our first bits of a rainy morning yesterday and you just can't have a rainy Farmschool day without some mud painting.

First day for Tuesday/Thursday crew was also a success!

It's so fun seeing the different dynamics in each class and how we have all of these perfectly individual little people ready to explore and learn here on the farm!

We can't wait to continue learning all about eachother and watching our farmschool family flourish.
This life, this school is truly a blessing to us!

And just like that another year is underway!

We sure did miss the kiddos around here and we had the perfect first day of meeting new friends, loving on old friends and exploring the farm!

We learned all about the different animals the kiddos found out in farmyard today, we practiced counting them. The farmers found and picked dozens of flowers in the garden and we played hard in the dirt and so much more!
The first day can't get much better than that!
Oh how we are certainly blessed!
