🌟 Meet One of Our Summer Interns! 🌟

We're excited to welcome Makaila Matthies to the Judy McCarty Dairy Learning Center this summer!

Makaila is from Saint Francis and is currently studying Agricultural Communications at Kansas State University. With a passion for advocating for agriculture, she is dedicated to sharing the industry's stories and helping connect consumers with the people, animals, and practices that provide our food.

Throughout the summer, Makaila will gain hands-on experience in agricultural communications, education, and community outreach while supporting programs and events at the Learning Center.

We're thrilled to have Makaila as part of our team and look forward to the impact she'll make this summer. Be sure to give her a warm welcome when you visit!

🐄📚 TOMORROW! Our Cowabunga Summer Series kicks off with Cow Tales: Story Time featuring Pioneer Memorial Library and local author Andi Burnum—and we still have a few spots left!

Looking for something fun to do with the kids this summer? Join us for a morning of stories, songs, crafts, games, and dairy fun at the Judy McCarty Dairy Learning Center.

We'll be reading Chilly Milly Moo and Outdoor Farm, Indoor Farm, followed by sing-alongs, a cow-themed craft, and the Cow Carousel game.

Cow Tales is free to attend, but registration is required for each participating child. If you're looking for an easy, fun way to spend a summer morning, this is it!

Cooling Misters ❄️🐄

A dairy cow’s normal body temperature is around 101.6°F, which is why they prefer cooler temperatures. To help keep cows comfortable during the hot summer months, our barns are equipped with cooling misters and fans that work together efficiently to reduce heat stress.

The water used in the misters joins our recycled flush water system, helping us reuse water responsibly throughout the farm.

Since opening the Judy McCarty Dairy Learning Center, more than 84 schools, including thousands of students, teachers, and parents, have visited us for field trips! 🐄📚

From preschoolers to college students, visitors have explored milk’s journey from soil to yogurt cup through interactive exhibits, barn tours, and hands-on learning experiences on the farm.

Thank you to all the schools and educators who have spent part of their school year with us. We love sharing agriculture’s story and helping students connect where their food comes from!

Summer is here, and our Summer Small Group Barn Tours are back! ☀️🐄

Hop on our shuttle for a fun and educational tour around the farm and get an up-close look inside our dairy barns. Learn how cows are cared for, see where milk’s journey begins, and experience dairy farming firsthand!

Tours are available Wednesdays–Fridays at 10 AM & 2 PM CST during June and July. Space is limited, so reserve your seat today!
