Just a thought…..
Customer: complaining about the price of produce, saying man you’re making a killing. Jesse James trying to rob someone with these prices.
Farmer: do you understand the expense it takes to get the seeds, gas/electricity/ water bill to grow seeds, $5-$6 a gal for Diesel for tractors, $4+ gal gas to water with irrigation pump and Mother Nature comes in a floods it. =$0.00 profit actual you are in the negative. Praying you can produce another crop to help cover the expenses you lost.
Farming is a passion, a blessing and curse at the same time.
Moral of the story- you do NOT know what it has taken to get these products on the shelf for you the consumer/customer to abuse and complain about. We try our best to keep prices low but we are a small farmer trying to feed our community.
