Today was one of those days that makes you stop for a minute and think, “Wow… look how far we’ve come.”
We had the incredible honor of welcoming Governor Kevin Stitt and Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur to Homestead Meats & Processing today.
To be able to walk them through our facility, show them what we’ve built, explain what we do every day, and have a real conversation about the obstacles facing Oklahoma ranchers and meat processors was something I’m extremely proud of.
Like any small business, getting to where we are today hasn’t always been easy. There have been long days, growing pains, challenges, changes, and plenty of lessons learned along the way. But there has also been a whole lot of hard work, determination, and faith in what we are building.
Sometimes when you’re busy working every day, it’s easy to forget to look around and appreciate just how far you’ve come. Today was definitely one of those moments for me.
I’m incredibly proud of Homestead Meats & Processing, our employees who work so hard every single day, the producers who trust us with their livestock, and the customers and community who continue to support us.
Most of all, I’m proud that our little piece of Oklahoma agriculture had a seat at the table today. We were able to speak openly about the challenges our industry faces and advocate for the ranchers, processors, rural businesses, and families who keep Oklahoma agriculture going.
Thank you, Governor Stitt and Secretary Arthur, for taking the time to come see what we do, listen to our concerns, and talk about the future of agriculture and meat processing in Oklahoma.
