Jenna decided that the hottest day NJ has seen in a long time was the best time to calve! Jafar, a healthy, opinionated bull, was born on Thursday, July 2 at the peak of our heat wave! We are very thankful that he is doing well and didn’t seem to mind the heat.

In an effort to stay cool, then in an attempt to dodge the raindrops from the subsequent storms, this little guy has spent most of his life completely filthy! Enjoy these few photos of the cleanest we’ve seen him…

Betty was born on Monday, June 15 out of Bailey - a first year heifer! This spunky girl was up and hopping around after birth faster than any calf we’ve ever had! She has made a great addition to the herd, and as you would expect, is the calf that gets everyone else riled up!

Mel is doing an excellent job in her babysitting duties to our yearling steers by keeping them out of the run-in sheds, and in the shade, so they can stay as cool as possible, catch a breeze, and still be able to graze!

Beau was born on Monday, June 1 out of Betsy! A petite guy with a whole lot of attitude…

One of our favorite parts of this breed is the fantastic maternal instincts and mothering-capabilities that American British White Park cattle have. While most of our cows are very tolerant of our involvement in checking on their calves, Betsy was particularly protective of this little one, so photos were few and far between!

Let’s get caught up!

As she tends to do, Mayflower gave us this silly-demeanor, over marked bull calf. Lucifer was born on Sunday, May 31 and has been well integrated into the herd!

While his markings aren’t standard for British White Parks, he sure does turn heads in our herd!

We have a little *Joy* on the farm! This small but well put together heifer was born last Sunday (May 17) out of Jolene! Being our first heifer of the year, and since last year Jolene had some calving complications, we are thrilled to have this healthy calf and all her personality here with us!

If you drive past the farm, you may get a small peak of the herd, as a third of them were moved across 539 into one of the fields closest to the road earlier today!

As always, please do not be distracted, slow down, stop, or pull onto the property to get a better look. Always drive safely and pay attention to the road, and not these beautiful animals!

This perfectly marked, red tipped bull calf was born on Thursday, May 14 out of Reba! Roger is strong and spunky just like his mother!

Reba is our only red tipped cow unlike the rest of our traditionally marked black tipped herd. Her color certainly brings something fun and a good educational conversation starter to our farm.

Steven doesn’t love the red, Renee wants more. Lucky for Steven, after owning Reba for 4 years, we’ve never gotten a heifer from her to help grow the red tipped line. BUT she has always given us some of the nicest, biggest bull calves, so really it’s a win for everyone!
