If you’re in the United States and haven’t been able to find yuca, Walmart has really good frozen yuca!
I honestly can’t complain.

Made with soft and sweet King’s Hawaiian bread, creamy Tropical Cheese, and inspired by the flavors of my Dominican roots, this recipe brings together comfort, creativity, and Aloha spirit in one bite. 💛
Since I had to use a Pacific-Rim inspired ingredient, I substituted Salami for Luncheon Meat.

Growing up, dishes like this always brought my family together around the table. From fresh fish to arroz con guandules and crispy batatas 🍠 , these are the flavors that remind me of home and the traditions I grew up with.

Since I haven’t been able to go back to my country in a long time, cooking has become my way of staying connected to my roots, my culture, and the memories that shaped me. Every dish I create tells a story, and this one means so much to me.

Food has always been more than just a meal in my family — it’s love, connection, and tradition passed down through generations ✨

This dish is special to me because it reminds me so much of home 💓🌊🇩🇴

Growing up, seafood and mofongo were always a big part of my culture and the meals shared with family. Since I haven’t been able to visit my country in a long time, cooking dishes like this helps me stay connected to those memories, flavors, and traditions that mean so much to me.

For this meal, I made a seafood mofongo using fresh seafood from BJ’s Wholesale Club to create a comforting dish full of flavor, warmth, and pieces of home in every bite

Let me introduce myself…
My name is Rossy Dominguez and I am a Dominican Chef based in Texas since 2016. I’ve always loved cooking ever since I was a little girl. My mom would let me use old pots and leftover foods to make my own recipes. I’ve always dreamt of having my own cooking show. And now I am trying this new thing called UGC(user generated content) where I partnered up with brands to make content with their products. So if you’d like to join me on this journey I would very much appreciate a follow or a like.
My daughter is always telling me: “mom you should have a cooking chanel your food is so good and the way you plate them is creative and awesome”.
So I decided to enroll Carla Hall’s Favorite Chef contest and this was the push that I needed, thank you to my daughter for always believing in me and thank you Carla Hall for the opportunity to be in this competition…
