One thing every new business owner needs to know about applying for vendor events is rejection is part of the process.

Not every vendor application will turn into an acceptance, and that’s okay. I’ve been denied, waitlisted, overlooked AND accepted. The biggest thing I’ve learned from event vending? Keep applying. Your next application could be your next YES.

We really thought prepping 50 would buy us some time 😂

30 minutes into the event: EMPTY TABLE.
All 50 gone and we were right back to prepping round ✌🏾

One thing vending has taught us QUICKLY is that you can plan, prep and think you’re ahead… then the crowd will humble you 😭 But having to make another round because the first one SOLD? That’s a problem we’ll take every time 🙏🏽

What’s something yall thought you prepped “enough” of and ended up running through way faster than expected?

Tent vendors… y’all know the event ending does NOT mean we’re done 😭

Tables gotta come down. Tent gotta come down. Product gotta get packed. Coolers gotta get loaded. Trash gotta go. And somehow everything has to fit back in the truck like Tetris. 😂

As a small business owner, we always have the BEST intentions when it comes to filming content. 😂

Every event it’s, “Okay, don’t let us forget to get videos today.”

Then the gates open... and we go into full event mode.

Taking care of customers becomes the only thing on our minds, and before we know it, the event is over.

I swear I crack up every time I check my camera roll after a successful event because somehow I have zero proof we were even there.

No drink videos. No behind-the-scenes. No trendy Reels.

Just a couple random clips and a whole lot of memories. 😂

Please tell me we’re not the only small business owners that do this 😭

A little behind the scenes for the people who always ask about lemon prep 🍋💛

One thing I wanted to clarify because I know people notice it in our videos:
We DO reuse the original produce boxes for transport, but our lemons are cleaned and transferred into fresh clean bags every single time before prep 👏🏽

Also before somebody asks 😭 yes, some people use baking soda instead of vinegar and that works too.

But please don’t use both together thinking you’re getting bonus cleaning points… they react and basically cancel each other out!

And if you have a produce brush, that’s another great option to give your lemons a little extra scrub 🍋🫧

This is just the method that works for us and has become part of our event prep routine 💛

When we first started vending, there was no custom tent, no fancy setup, and definitely no huge budget 💛

One thing I wish more beginner vendors knew... you do NOT have to start glamorous.
Start with what you have. Learn your market. Build your process. Make sales. Upgrade as you grow.

But when you ARE ready to level up your setup, that doesn’t automatically mean spending thousands either 👏🏽

This custom tent ended up being under $600 and completely changed our visibility at events.

Some days I still have to stop and remind myself how far we’ve come. 😭🍋

This event ended up surprising us!

In just 3 hours, we sold 150 lemonades with just my husband and me running the booth... and our two kiddos along for the ride. 💛

Was it chaotic?

Absolutely. 😂

But moments like these remind me why we keep showing up, even on the exhausting days.

Building a business while raising a family isn’t always easy, but it’s been one of the most rewarding things we’ve ever done.

Would you believe me if I told you there were times we wondered if anybody would even buy one lemonade? 😭🍋

When I first started vending, I thought every successful vendor had a fully custom setup.

Then I started paying attention. 👀

A lot of vendors were using simple tents, homemade signs, printed banners, and DIY branding while they built their businesses.

You don’t have to buy everything at once.

Our setup looked very different before our custom canopy, but those smaller upgrades helped us create a booth we were proud of while staying within budget.
