🌻 A Hallelujah Homestead Update 🌻

Friends,
This is one of those posts I never thought I’d have to write. For the past five years and really since my teens , I and then our family have been searching for answers—collecting multiple diagnoses but never knowing the root cause of my many many illnesses. Recently, the Lord allowed us to finally see it clearly. The cause traces back to the 1997 Shell Refinery industrial explosion in Deer Park Texas, which released poisonous chemicals into the air .3 miles from my house as a 12 year old. We now know that I was exposed and poisoned with very toxic chemicals and never told, and every piece of the puzzle we’ve wrestled with my whole life since makes sense in light of that.

It’s a hard truth, but it brings clarity: because of the poison in my system, our home environment—and even the precious and beloved animals we love so dearly—have become toxic to me. If we dont leave, I wont make it long. That means God is calling us to let go of Hallelujah Homestead. We are in a hotel healing as we transition to a rental in Decatur trusting the Lord and praising Him for the gift of understanding!

This little farm has been more than animals and chores—it’s been life lessons, laughter, and so many moments of joy. It has been hope on days where I could barely sit to watch them out the window. We’ve chased pigs that thought they were smarter than us (they probably were), refereed chicken drama, and learned that even a guinea fowl has a flair for the dramatic. Through it all, God has been faithful. We know He will continue to be.

We hold onto His promise: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14). This is a season of letting go, but it’s not a season without hope.

Here’s where we ask of you, our friends and community, is to join us in prayer. Please pray that God would send someone willing to take our 2 rvs and someone who would want our farm of over 60 birds, 3 pigs, 4 turkeys, 6 rabbits, and our two spayed house cats that have been our world, and make it their own—someone who will take these animals in, love them well, and carry forward what was started here. We trust that He already has the right home prepared.

Thank you for walking with us in this journey, for praying, and for reminding us that even in the hardest seasons, the Hallelujahs don’t stop—they simply move with us. 💛

🕊️ “Be still and know…” — Psalm 46:10

Today I slowed down—truly slowed down—and let the quiet settle in.
Bella, my new little comfort-bunny, curled up in my arms like she already knew:
this was sacred space.
Not clean. Not quiet. Not finished.
But still sacred.

The house was messy. The chores were mid-reset.
But grace showed up anyway,
and reminded me that rest isn’t weakness—
it’s worship.

🐥💛 Homestead Snuggles & Soft Recoveries 💛🐥

Meet Mine Mine—our sweet little lap chicken currently on the mend after a run-in with one of the piggies. She’s spending her recovery time cuddled up inside with a fellow feathered friend who’s also healing from a few bumps and bruises.

We lovingly call this setup the "mini hospital," complete with soft blankets, cozy naps, and a whole lot of love. 💕

Homesteading isn’t always clean or easy. Sometimes it means unexpected injuries, careful watchfulness, and gentle care—but it also means compassion, love, and bonding in ways we never expected.

Prayers for a full recovery for these brave little babes. They’ve already got the best nurses. 🐔🩷

🐓💛 Meet Nathan & Katie 💛🐓
(Written with love, from Christina)

Nathan and Katie may not live on the farm, but they’re part of the heartbeat of Hallelujah Homestead. They’ve jumped in when extra hands were needed, helped with heavy lifting (literally and spiritually), and Katie faithfully manages this page so our story can be shared with all of you.

They’ve served our family through the Lord with gentleness and joy—showing up in ways that truly matter. To our kids, they’re like an aunt and uncle. To us, they’re steady encouragers and trusted friends.

Together, they’ve walked through storms that would’ve knocked most people flat… and yet here they are—showing up, sowing seeds, and loving well. Every single day.

Those beautiful eggs you see? That proud little photo? That’s more than just a harvest. It’s provision. It’s hope. It’s God’s goodness showing up through chickens that don’t worry about the weather or the news or the hard things in life—they just keep doing what they were made to do.

And because of that, these little hen blessings feed more than just one family… they nourish hearts and tables all around them—including Nathan and Katie’s. 💛

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
— 2 Corinthians 9:8 🌱

This is 40.
A beautiful, messy, love-soaked life.
Full of grit and grace.
Of holding it all together when no one sees.
Of pouring out your heart—day after day—
for your family, your home, your calling.

It’s joy and laughter.
Tears and tenacity.
It’s worship in the kitchen and prayers in the middle of the night.
It’s the sacred kind of ordinary that only grows more radiant with time.

Happy 40th, Christina.
You are a gift—and your life is a testimony to God’s faithfulness in every season. 💛

🐓💪 Farm Kid Feature: Micah 💪🐓

If there’s work to be done (or mischief to be made), you can count on Micah to be in the middle of it! At 9 years old, Micah brings full-throttle energy to the homestead—rambunctious, joyful, and always on the move.

Whether he's hauling feed, chasing chickens, building something out of nothing, or coming up with the next great idea, Micah tackles it all with grit and a grin. He’s a hard worker with a heart that runs deep—and while he might be covered in dirt by lunchtime, he’s also quick to lend a hand and quick to laugh.

We’re so grateful for the strength and spark he brings to the farm—and for the young man he’s growing into, one chore (and chicken cuddle) at a time. 💛

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
– Colossians 3:23 🛠️

😠🐣 Meet Grumpy 🐣😠
Don’t let the fluff fool you—this little one has opinions.

Grumpy hatched with a scowl, stomps like he means it, and absolutely does not have time for your nonsense. We adore him already. 💛

Every homestead needs a little spice, and Grumpy’s bringing the whole seasoning rack.
Welcome to the flock, tiny grump.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!”
– Psalm 150:6 (Even if it’s a little grumbly about it) 😉
