Keeping our hands in the dirt this season through a partnership that means a whole lot to us! 🌱

We’ve been working with The Dixboro Project for years to bring fresh, organic Michigan produce to their kitchen. This season, that partnership grew even further as we helped cultivate their on-site gardens using a low-till, permanent bed system designed to grow more food right where it’s served.

Local food, healthy soil, and farm-to-table dining right here in Michigan. It doesn’t get much fresher than that! 💚

If you can, go to the source! Buy your eggs from a local farm and ask the farmer how they raise their chickens. Then you don't have to rely on "greenwashing" labels that are designed to deceive you. We look forward to being part of the local egg scene next season!

The list could be more like 300 things! We were so naive when we started this journey but honestly, that's been part of the fun! When we knew we had to move, we faced the choice of whether to continue farming or hang up our boots. Despite the challenges we've faced and how hard farming can be, we were in complete agreement that the lifestyle offers so much joy, purpose and community and we did not want to let that go. So here we are in a new place - still learning, still making mistakes, still loving it. We can't wait to share it all with you again soon!

Despite their different feelings, all the animals are settling in well! Everyone is in temporary shelters while we build a new livestock barn and install pasture fencing. Our goal is to have the livestock in their permanent pens and pastures by late fall before the weather turns cold. So far we are on schedule! Keep watching for updates!

We so wish we could be providing you with locally grown, organic lettuce during this time of the outbreak. Actually, we want to provide it to you ALL the time! Lucky for you, there are many other local sources for safe, nutritious and delicious greens and produce! Make an effort to buy local - its good for you and good for the local food system!
