I read a post once that said ‘when you are the best at something, you continually look to improve to continue to be the best. When you aren’t the best, you continually worry about what others are doing instead of trying to be the best’. I guess this is why so many people claim to be “just like C&W”, or they try to be a Xerox machine to our products. I’m not claiming to be the best, but others actions are saying we are! Do you recall the hail storm that pretty much wiped 200 acres of our beans off the map just before the 4th of July. They were replanted and it is amazing what the damaged beans look like compared to the new beans. We might make it to harvest on this field considering 1.8 maturity beans planted beginning of July.

When people ask do my bottomless fenceline bunks move by the cows……. That’s a complicated answer as they can, but so do my concrete bunks, the difference is how easy they are to move back. With how easy they are to move by loader, it makes cleaning up the feeding area so much nicer and easier over concrete bunks. I used to be a die hard concrete bunk fan UNTIL I tried a bottomless fenceline bunk, my opinions have greatly changed today. I look at the ease of cleaning and the ability to move a pen wherever I’d like as the main reasons I choose our metal fenceline bunks over concrete.

With 5 gallons of unicorn p**s mixed with a hand full of leprechaun dust an acre, you too can have corn that looks like this………….. aweeee the season of showing ears and not the whole story….. sure a lot of talk with no desire to show yield maps to back up their claims…. Talk just long enough to get the check to clear.

The end plants look fantastic, but the whole field will be interesting. We have 109-113 day corn down to 35 percent already.

Can you tell which bunks have the bunk connectors in them? These bunk connectors are $50 and they help with feed going between the bunks and helps hold the line straighter. We have quite a few out as demos and guys are really liking them so it is something new we are offering this fall! Just another way we are striving to be the best!

With severe drought, floods, fires, and everything else happening in the world today, I believe we can narrow things down to 2 main things producers care about……. Having enough green grass to watch calves frolic in and grow, and secondly but most importantly, have enough money left in the bank at the end of the year to continue to watch their family and herd grow. This understanding is why everything about us is different than what you’ll find anywhere us. I am a producer first and a business owner second……. I used to say welder second, but if I’m being honest I haven’t touched one of them things in a llllloooonnnnnggggg time, so a welder is like 3rd or 4th now. 😜.
