There’s something magical about roasted hojicha and pumpkin coming together — the toasty, nutty depth of Japan’s roasted green tea melting into creamy pumpkin cold foam and a hint of maple syrup.
It’s cozy, earthy, and just sweet enough to taste like fall in a cup.
This isn’t your average pumpkin drink — it’s smoother, more balanced, and made with high-quality hojicha from the top 4% of harvests.

🎃 Iced Hojicha Latte with Pumpkin Cold Foam

🧋Hojicha Base
• 4g hojicha powder
• 40g room-temp water
• Milk of choice (oat, almond, or whole)
• Ice

Instructions:
1. Whisk 4g hojicha powder with 40g room-temp water until smooth and frothy.
2. Fill a glass with ice and pour in your milk of choice.
3. Slowly pour the whisked hojicha over the milk for a layered look.

🎃 Pumpkin Cold Foam
• 2 tbsp pumpkin purée
• 4 tsp heavy cream
• 1 tsp milk
• Drizzle of maple syrup (adjust to taste)

Froth until you reach creamy consistency.
Pour it over and enjoy!!!

Your tea isn’t weak. It’s over-steeped.

If your cup keeps coming out bitter or astringent, steeping longer isn’t the fix, it’s the problem. Extra steep time pulls more tannins out of the leaf, which is what gives you that harsh, dry aftertaste.

The fix: use more tea leaves and stick to your steep time. You’ll get a fuller, stronger cup without the bitterness, especially for iced tea and lattes.

This is part of our Tips for Home Baristas: Tea Edition series. 20+ years of learning tea, one tip at a time.

Save this for your next brew. What’s your go-to steep time?

Cold Brew Green Tea • Grapes • Lime • Mint

A naturally smooth and refreshing cold brew that’s bright, crisp, and bursting with fresh flavor.

Ingredients (16 oz):
🍵 3-4 tsp of green tea (I’m going with dragonwell green tea)
🍇 8–10 green grapes
🍈 1 oz fresh lime juice
🌿 8–10 fresh mint leaves
🍯 1 oz simple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
🧊 Ice

Method:

1. Add the grapes, mint, to a cup
2. Gently muddle until the grapes release their juice and the mint becomes fragrant.
3. Add in the green tea
4. Add 16oz of water
5. Place in fridge for 8-12 hours
6. Squeeze half a lime while assembling
7. Add ice, simple syrup(or sweetener of choice)
8. Pour it over with the cold brewed green tea
9. Garnish with a sprig of mint, a lime wheel, and a few sliced grapes.

✨ Cold brewed for a smoother, naturally sweeter green tea with no bitterness.
