Attending the Miss Rodeo New Mexico Pageant in Hobbs, New Mexico was truly an experience to remember. As New Mexico proudly carries the name The Land of Enchantment, the evening itself was just as enchanting—filled with rodeo tradition, beautiful representation, and the celebration of young women who carry a passion for agriculture, western heritage, and their communities.
As Miss Indian Rodeo 2026, being present for this state rodeo queen pageant held a special meaning for me, as New Mexico is my home. New Mexico is home to 23 Native American communities, each with their own histories, cultures, languages, traditions, and contributions to the beautiful fabric of our state. Being able to recognize that connection and the importance of Indigenous representation was deeply meaningful to me. 🫶
Rodeo has always been more than an arena. It is community, tradition, hard work, leadership, and the passing of knowledge from one generation to the next.
And perhaps, one day, the Miss Rodeo New Mexico crown and title will come home to the Navajo people and be shared proudly with our Indigenous communities across New Mexico. (😉) It would be a beautiful reflection of the talent, dedication, culture, and leadership that exists within our Native communities.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed me to Hobbs and allowed me to share in such a memorable evening.
Congratulations to all of the young women who stepped forward to represent their communities and the sport they love. 💗
From the Land of Enchantment to Indian Country, may we continue to celebrate the women who represent, lead, and inspire. 🌶️
