It was a beautiful, calm morning hanging out with the mob and then Rooster decided to get crazy. This, in turn, annoyed TJ who took it upon himself to try to school Rooster. TJ annoyed Newton, so Newton decided he needed to discipline TJ 😆🙄. All the commotion made Emma decide to get frisky as well. So much drama 🤦‍♀️. In all honesty though I just enjoy these moments hanging out with the big birds.

The emu juveniles love their guardian and flock to him anytime he comes in. Rooster is so incredibly patient and gentle with them. I know I probably over share videos but their interactions are fascinating to me to watch.

I should also point out, the gate is open. Rooster is free to leave anytime he would like. He chooses to come in and check on his charges, even when they pester him 😆😆

Rooster has discovered the mud puddle fun on the days the irrigation ditch floods a portion of the main emu field. Newton was not terribly impressed to share the mud puddle 🤣🤣

I am constantly amazed at how mature Rooster acts for his age. Not even five months old and he already loves to check in with the babies and keeps an eye on them while being so gentle and tolerant of their constant pestering. He’s always eager to go inside the pen despite getting mobbed up on 🤣🤣. He really is turning out to be an awesome addition to the farm and I have not lost a single bird since he arrived. I think just him spreading his smell everywhere has scared off a lot of the predators that were invading the farm.

Help!! I’m the victim of a vicious dinosaur attack! Guess that means I’m done doing farm chores 😆😆.

Honestly though, I do enjoy a few ‘quiet’ minutes hanging out with the juveniles.

Apparently TJ had enough of Rooster’s puppy shenanigans this morning and gave him a bit of a run around 😆😆

I still have lots of Kikiriki juveniles available, both pullets and roosters. Some of the pullets are at point of lay and already producing eggs.

Disclaimer: there is one rooster and one pullet in this pen that are not available as they will be staying to be future breeders here. I bet you can pick them out since they have also been the first picks for anyone who has come over to choose birds 😆.
