Not sure if you will be able to handle this cuteness overload but here it is. Five’s officially a daddy!! One chick is out and another egg I hear rustling. He’s is such a proud poppa 🥰😍

Ok, you can’t say I didn’t warn you about probably over sharing Five’s hatching journey, so here we go 😍🤣🤷‍♀️. I just saw Five was up this afternoon so decided to walk down and see how the hatching is going. Five is doing such a good job and it’s adorable to hear him purring to the chick and you can hear the chick whistling back to him. If you turn the sound up you can hear them both. Sorry about the obnoxious roosters in the background lol.

It’s happening everyone!!! All of Five’s hard work and dedication sitting on eggs is paying off, the first egg has pipped! Literally had happy tears this morning when I went to check on him and saw the pip 🥰😍

The storm is coming and Five has his game face on keeping those eggs warm. Really praying he is successful in his hatching efforts. Three eggs that are in the hatcher right now are pipping so I may sneak a chick under him if his eggs fail 😊

I think it’s about time momma starts thinking about cutting the baby off from the milk bar, he’s half the size of her now lol.

Almost there Five! He’s made 7 weeks of sitting on his nest and we can finally start watching for chicks! Some eggs were laid a bit later so it may be up to another week or two but I will be watching closely. To reduce Five’s stress once the babies finally arrive, I have moved all but a couple of males out of the main field. This will give Five plenty of space without the chance of the females trying to attack the chicks. The remaining two males are Wonton, who just lost his mate and he’s been isolating himself at the far end of the field anyway, and TJ who tends to stay far away from Five.
