Sweet lion’s manes. Mock Crab cakes anyone? God I love the way these smell. But I cannot really describe it. What is a comparable smell to lion’s mane for you?

This is Black Poplar Mushroom or Pioppino, fruiting on supplemented sawdust. It is a delicious edible mushroom, easy to grow, and one I think more people should know about.

And yes - you can grow this one at home.

This is a parasitic mushroom, it attacks live trees as much as it breaks down dead ones.

They are quite tasty though, and they pickle really well.
