I'm usually closed on Mondays, but due to Holiday schedule, I have to be here for an off-day beer delivery, and with the storm coming in, I will be open if you need supplies. I have a fresh crop of milk and bread, and all the usual necessities. I WILL NOT BE COOKING, AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE MY DAY OFF. Tuesday, I'll be busy with snow removal, so patience will be the word of the day. Stock up, hunker down, get the jigsaw puzzle out, and keep the kids busy...I'm guessing they'll be at home. Stay safe!!

Several hundred dollars in expired food items and that is only half of it. SHOP LOCAL OR YOU WON’T HAVE A LOCAL SHOP!!!! In spite of the fact that the pig farm up the road consumes more milk and bread than the humans, I keep it going….for now. At least my bills and taxes are paid. But if this keeps up, I’ll revert the space back to my thrift store, especially since The Key in Cazenovia has closed. Clothing and housewares don’t expire and consignment items help others to get money for their unwanted items. And I still have a TON of inventory from when I had the store in Caz. Shorter hours, Sundays off and holidays would be nice, as well.

Today I learned from a chatty customer that the nearby store was selling eggs MUCH cheaper than I'm being charged for the same eggs from the same farm. When I called the farm to inquire about the cost, I was quoted over $1.00 less than I was charged on Monday morning. When I asked why I was charged so much more, I was "passed off" to the owner, and when I again asked why I am being gouged for the cost of my eggs, I was told that it was because I complained about the price of eggs on Facebook....this was a couple years ago!! I will let my lawyer and the Attorney General sort all that out. So, if you're wondering why the price of eggs is so high in my store, I'm not gouging my customers...the local egg farm is gouging "certain" customers, and they will have to answer for that. Apparently, free speech isn't free anymore in America. But price gouging is still illegal...

Everyone please take a moment and put a note in your wallet that says, “if found, please call….” An elderly gentleman came into my store and bought some ice tea, dropping his wallet outside, which my next honest customer brought to me. I spent a good 45 minutes trying to track him down from the cards and information in his wallet. AAA had a phone number that was disconnected, his bank had a phone number but wouldn’t call him - they would only shut off his cards!! I said don’t do that!! He’s traveling from Massachusetts to Ohio by the looks of things and he might need them…they didn’t care. Luckily, I found a dental appointment card from an Ohio dentist and called them. They called him and he insisted that he hasn’t lost it…I asked her to tell him to look for it because it was in my hands. He turned around from his trek to Ohio to come and get it. PLEASE make it easier for the person who might find your wallet someday….THANK YOU!!!
