Today's blooms 💕 Enjoying these dahlias while we still can, it'll be tuber-digging time before we know it! Already planning out next year's growing space expansion.

First time we’ve spotted a male valley carpenter bee out here. The females are the big shiny black ones, but the males are this fuzzy golden teddy bear and they don’t have a stinger. It was pretty cool, he hung around the flowers for quite a while.

Happy Friday! Today’s dahlia of the day is KA’s Jubilee.

She’s an informal decorative dahlia with blooms around 4 inches. She is super productive and just gorgeous. We are both loving this variety.

Quick update on our zinnias that we have been treating for powdery mildew for the past three days. Yesterday we sprayed the GrowSafe and really focused on spraying the underside of the leaves . We are definitely seeing a decrease in powdery mildew, which is great news. The directions say to spray twice a week with a three day gap in between, so we will continue with that and hopefully we keep it under control. It’s always fun experimenting with what works best for us, along with seeing where we can improve.
