Avalon Teaching Farm grew out of Amanda's passion for education: over 40 years teaching horsemanship, 15 years running and teaching a VT Recognized Independent school, and over 25 years as a 4-H leader.

What a great day! Thanks to Aryanna, Aubri, Claire, Grace, Julie, Maeryn, and Morgan for your help, and thanks to Mother Nature for a lack of rain, if not actual sunshine! Livia, Maeve, ducklings, and chicks -- nice job you all too! The sheep were still sulking because they were shorn on Thursday, they didn't want to talk to anyone!

Did anyone get any photos to share? I was talking to parents and customers most of the day, and I'm not any good with photos anyway! Thanks Deborah for the picture!

OMGoodness! Such waste!!! So, D4K has added a Hobby Horse activity to the LYDF this August. We ordered string mops and pool noodles to make horses with. We ordered 6 cases with 10 noodles per case from Walmart. Guess what they did... They sent each noodle in its own box. The waste of trees, fuel, well man-power wasn't really wasted, but... How much cheaper would everything be at Walmart if this wasn't the kind of stupidity they aim for! I wish I knew who to complain to. Now, I've got to recycle all those boxes, and straighten out the noodles!
