Pettee Ranch LLC We are a family owned ranch residing in Fairplay, Colorado. We take pride in raising healthy, happy yak.

The Yak Shack farm store open the second weekend of every month Friday-Sunday 10am-4pm; selling meat cuts by the lb and yak fiber clothing. We are a small local ranch that raises North American (originated from Tibet) Yak for all purposes including; fiber, meat, breeding stock, and beast of burden. We pride ourselves on being good stewards of the land, using grazing dynamics to aid in the health and function of the ranch as a whole, creating healthy happy yak.

Bulls went out for breeding, which means they got weighed and checked for any maintenance needs. Here is some weights, ages, heights, and body condition scores. The 1500lb bulls are very big boys. We used a bovine weight tape on Magnum to test against the scale. It showed 1399lbs just a 44lb difference, so if you do not have a scale the weight tape is pretty close! Why do we measure? For health, education and long term records.
