I will not be hatching any more Barred Rock chicks this season I have more than I need for my self. If you need hatching eggs let me know. I will be running them on sale for the month of May at 50% off the 2023 list price so $40 a dozen. If you want chics get them while they last! $4 a chick straight run.

Plymouth Barred Rock pullets available in Giddings, TX. Pure bred, heritage (NOT HATCHERY) bred from our show lines but not show quality. 4-5 months old will be excellent egg laying hens when mature. NPIP/PT certified flock.

Barred Plymouth Rocks, also known as Barred Rocks, are known for their docile and gentle nature. These dual-purpose, heritage chickens are not only super friendly but also great egg layers. You can expect around 250 brown eggs per year from these hens! They’re a great addition to any flock due to their calm disposition.

Key characteristics
* Purpose: Dual-purpose (meat and eggs)
* Temperament: Docile, calm, and friendly
* Egg production: Excellent producer of large brown eggs, with hens laying around 200 eggs per year
* Hardiness: Very hardy and resistant to cold weather
* Broodiness: Hens are often good sitters and mothers
* Weight: Standard hens weigh about 7.5 lbs, and roosters about 9.5 lbs
