Most beautiful morning!!! 🍂

We went for a walk, Levi helped us identify some trees, dug up sassafras root and had a couple up hill races (Ellie won both) 🥴🫣 Levi’s leg is still hurt so he walked. This mama is out of shape 🫪😮‍💨

Isaac had already left for work so he didn’t get to go with us this morning but he does plenty of work around there. We checked out where he had bush hogged and planted seed for his food plots 🦌 He’s doing great work! He saw 4 turkey hens in the field early this morning and he was STOKED! 🦃 Dove 🕊️ are everywhere! I’m sure going after all that wheat he planted 😅🌾

This is our type of weather! 🧡 Thank you Lord for giving us these days 🫶

I plan to make sassafras root syrup to mix with club soda for a natural, healing and refreshing root beer drink. It’s Isaac’s favorite 😋

Isaac’s getting some wheat spread on the cow pastures for winter time. Now we need some rain!! 🌧️🙏🌾

Waiting for cooler weather to put some rabbits in the freezer. Some availability for your freezer if interested. Message us for details 📝

And don’t come at us with “aww poor bunny” bc that is life on a homestead. You’re following a homestead page after all 🫣🤷‍♀️🥴 We are stewards of our land and over our animals. And we thank the Lord for providing us with each animal that provides for us. We do not always like it but we know this is the way of life if you want your own meat and most importantly know where your meat came from. And we do 🤗

Did you know that you can raise rabbits for the freezer and get more meat from them than raising a cow. They literally reproduce like mice and grow out super fast compared to a cow. We like to have both in the freezer 🐮🐰 but that is good to know. Plus you get awesome fertilizer for your garden that in turn provides more food. Win win! 😁

Good money break down video. We love raising our own chicken. We usually do around 50-60 a year. They last us all year and then a little 🐓

Isaac got a new tool to add his flair to his creations 🫶

Exciting morning on the homestead. Levi’s Watusi cow, Merry, had a baby girl 🩷 and we brought home a new Jersey heifer who is due to have her first calf in February 🩷

The jersey heifer is my old butter cows last baby before she passed. We sold her to a neighbor friend when she was weaned and then we decided to buy her back. Her name is May but I think we will call her Butter May in memory of our butter cow 🫶

This heat has us in the house living like bats in a cave 🦇🥵 We aren’t made for this heat. Bring on the cold!! ❄️

Dear Lord,
We are grateful for every season…
But respectfully, Lord, please bring on the sweater weather 🍂☕️

The only thing FALLing is my will to function when I step outside in this Georgia heat 🔥😂

It will be hotter than the enemy’s breath today! 94° in Georgia🥵

Lord, please give us—as well as our AC units—the strength and endurance to outlast this heat.🙏😅

The potato bread turned out good. Had a good flavor and is very soft 🍞 The recipe made 3 small loaves. We are down to one small loaf 😅
