Another lovely day on the farm where critters think the garden is their personal salad bar. Replanted trees that didn't survive winter snacking and decided to give them some protective tubes. Next project is spraying the apple tree for bug control. Bring on the summer warmth so plants can grow and I can enjoy my garden without freezing.

During a day marked by pleasant sunshine, warm weather, and calm conditions, we took advantage of the opportunity to ready the planter for its seasonal hiatus, and a brief moment of sunlight allowed me to take a compelling photo of the tractor on the mantle.

Typically, I prefer to conclude the planting season by sharing photographs of our completed work. However, due to the adverse weather conditions caused by strong winds, these images will have to be shared at a later time. Fortunately, we have successfully completed the planting season for 2026. The final day was particularly challenging, especially the last 100 acres, which proved to be difficult due to the wind interfering with the sensors. Nonetheless, the team persevered and finished the task. We have secured the planter and will undertake a thorough cleanup when weather conditions improve.

Today's wind was incredibly strong. It did not make tasks enjoyable at all. The day started with a seed run operation. We then switched to tillage while the boss proceeded with seed planting. Despite the wind making things tough, we managed to finish another field. Hopefully, the wind will decrease soon, as our fields are losing soil.

Today was a productive day, commencing with the planting of a soybean plot and a visit from some delightful yellow friends. Upon noticing the emergence of asparagus, I dedicated time to weeding and maintaining the area, ensuring the patches were easily locatable for future care. After flagging the patches, I worked on the beds to facilitate easier maintenance throughout the season. Due to the lack of rainfall, I had to water the seedlings to support the growth of our grass mound. Although the first field of beans will have to wait, progress is underway. Now, we'll take a moment to catch up on some Wild Hockey highlights before a fulfilling meal, preparing for another busy day tomorrow.

Speedy and I made the most of a brief window to sow several rows of sweet corn. We wrapped up the evening by preparing the soil for soybean planting scheduled for tomorrow and swapping the planter's plates. A quick inventory check showed that protein ball supplies are running low and need to be replenished.
