FARM BREWERY, FARM STAY, FARM FOOD, FARM FUN

On 50 acres in the center of Granby, CT, Maple View Farm is home to horses, pigs and chickens in addition to the farmers who, for 4 generations have lived on and farmed the property. Founded in 1950, the farm has over time been a dairy, provided pony rides, and today continues to offer horseback riding lessons and summer sessions to kids, and provide f

ood for their brewery. Jason Bogli and his wife, Kate, are committed to taking care of their 50 acres of land in the center of town so it can be farmed by their own children for years to come.

Do you know a kid who is sensitive?

Often times our choice of language can create emotional intensity. Mohammad Ali was a master of this.

"I'm so fast, last night hit the switch to my bedroom was in the bed before the room was dark!"

It's called Rhetoric and the key is to use Rhetoric, on the positive emotion. Kids will say: "I'm starving," "Everyone hates me." "This is backbreaking work!" Rhetoric, increases emotion reguardless of the emotion is positive or negative.

This is why we teach our students to use rhetoric on positive emotions and rational speech on negative ones. Try it with your kids.

This post was inspired by the book Emotional Self Defense https://amzn.to/3aPKNwM

Last year, we supported 48 cancer survivors through our LIVESTRONG program 💛
Through community and wellness, survivors regained strength, confidence, and hope.
Programs like this are only possible because of donor support. Join us again this year and make an impact that truly changes lives.
