Hi everyone it's been a bit and figured it was time for an update from the farm. All the baby pigs have been weaned and are ready for new homes. We have 9 available they were born early April so will be ready before end of year.

Next just a reminder that we have eggs galore. 4.00 a dozen or buy two and get a free dozen.

We also have lots of honey available weather your sweetning your tea or trying to reduce your allergies.

Lastly I have been waiting a long time to see a kestrel or other small predator here and finally did a few days ago. We have plenty for them to eat between small birds and animals in the fields.

Please let us know if you are interested in any of the above.

Got a call this afternoon about a possible swarm. Finally finished up what I was doing and went to see if I could find it as all I had was a general area due to the fact that it was airborne when they saw it. Was just about to call it when I looked over and saw them lifting up from a spot in the grass. Went over to the spot and saw a blue spot crawling in the grass. Picked her up and set her in the box I had brought. Just to make sure they came back I put her in a clip and set her between a couple frames. In a matter of moments the they started coming back. Got a good video to share. Will let them sit for a bit before bringing them home.

The girls are on a mission. Collecting water for the hive is an essential task this time of year. As the hives are growing in population getting ready for honey production thier need for water is vital. You might be seeing large amounts of bees at water sources. As you can see here are 3 examples here on the farm.

Yes they can be intimidating but they are task minded and stinging you is not important. Our driveway is like a bee super highway and they are terrible distracted drivers. I get ran into everytime I'm out.

Just a reminder that it is also the start of swarm season so if you see a giant cloud in the sky or a cluster hanging somewhere they are just looking for a new home.

We would be happy to help with that just let us know and we will find them a new home.

Well so much for finishing the room. As usual things happen when I am at work. When I left yesterday I was hoping for at least a couple days. Got the call at around 6, she didn't wait so I came home and got everyone moved. 10 healthy babies that made it thru the night. Another dose of hot box training this morning and they should be good.

This litter is half herford berk/ duroc cross. Will be great pork come this fall. All are available.

Farmlife never a dull moment.

This post is from last year but it is swarm season. We have already caught 3, not sure if they are ours or wild. Please message us, call or text if you see one needing a home. Marie or I will be happy to get it or find someone that will.

There is never a charge for collecting swarms.
