It’s been a little while since I posted. To be honest I just haven’t felt like doing it. The input prices are way too high, the grain market is still at breakeven or less. It kinda takes the fun out of farming sometimes. Anyway, we are very fortunate to have a pretty nice looking crop in our area. You don’t have to drive too far in any direction and it doesn’t look as good. Here is some Beck's Hybrids 6046PQ non gmo corn that’s just starting to shoot some tassels.

Did you know?? This is a tool we hate to have to use but glad we have it. Sometimes the baby beans or corn just need a little help to poke their heads through the hard ground. We run this rotary hoe to loosen up the soil. You can see in the picture the difference it makes.

Did you know?? This tile is removing 7,200 gallons of water from the saturated soil in 24 hours. It took 12 seconds to fill this one gallon pitcher with water from the new main tile we just put in a couple weeks ago. Lots of factors go into how much water a tile can remove, but drain tiles work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
