News From the Meadery! I will be going back to Juneau this afternoon for a few days to get the rest of our Juneau life packed up and moved up! As such, we will be closed all week, with fairly normal hours on Saturday 9/12. After this week we will establish regular hours for the fall, and will start planning some events!

August is almost over, and with that we have a First Friday coming up! After talking to some folks here in town, we here at the Meadery want to encourage everyone to wear your 'Best Thing' while out and about on September 4th! Have a suit or dress that doesn't see the light of day enough? Wear it! Kilt and cloak to fight the fall wind? Wear it! Joe will be at the tasting room wearing his plate armor, and would love to see what other creative and cool outfits people have!

More news from the Meadery!

The GLOF was fairly mild, and our house in Juneau was unaffected! After unloading the just-in-case Uhaul, I have booked the ferry back up and will be back in town to resume normal operation tomorrow! I do have some work to do around the shop when I get back in, so we will most likely not be open tomorrow. But I will post our hours once I settle back in.

Thank you all for your understanding and support, and we look forward to pouring a drink and relaxing with you all!

News from the Meadery-
Due to a minor glacial outburst flooding being imminent in Juneau, where I (Joe) have a home in the potentially effected area, we will be closed starting on 08/07/2026 for an undetermined amount of time.

If the barriers hold, and we remain un-flooded in Juneau, I will return hopefully quickly. If the barriers do not hold, I don't know.

Here are our hours for the week! We will be closed today to prepare for the 3 large ships this week. Lots of bottling to be done! Also we will be closed starting Friday 8/7/26 for an undetermined amount of time. I will post an additional update with details on that later today.

It is almost time for the Fair! We are looking forward to a weekend of fun and community! After the revels of the fair come and meet all the new owners of Three Northmen, as we will all be in town this weekend! Skal to the Southeast Alaska State Fair!

For our 4th and final introduction we have Rebekah 'Bookworm' Deats!

Rebekah and her family moved to Juneau when she was six, and the land of gold held them like a spell. After discovering mead on a trip to Kauai, she fell in love with it and has been seeking out and enjoying meads whenever possible. A newcomer to the process of making mead, she has helped Joe in the creation of his homebrews and has put up with fermenters taking up space in their home for several years. When not busy corralling her kids and eclectic husband she enjoys reading books, participating in local theater productions, and escaping to make coffee at a local coffee shop.

Heads up! We were slated to be until 8pm today, but due to some unforeseen (nothing super crazy) circumstances I will need to shut down early. We will see everyone again on Wednesday!
