Happy Earth Day and happy 20 years of marriage to us. We are high school sweethearts and started farming together at 20. The first photo is us on our original farm in Maine. We figured because we could work on a 20’ x 20’ float all summer we could be married , so we tied the knot and moved into a house barge in Halibut Cove, Alaska where we started our farm and our family. We got married on Earth Day as our commitment to ourselves and the planet. Growing sustainable protein from the ocean for generations to come.

 We were excited today when the Coast Guard radioed us for a meet up. They have been anchored near our farm in Halibut Cove for a few days. We shared our oyster farming process with them and got to see the USCGC Frederick Mann, commissioned February 2026. They will be stationed in Kodiak. Thanks Coast Guard for all that you do ⚓️ 🇺🇸 Guard

Cutest oyster hitchhiker baby heart crab and a scale worm hanging on there too. these guys make our home with the oysters which offer protection and a great place to live ❤️ 🦀

Shuck it, it's Wednesday! Welcome to our trial run of Champagne and Oysters!
- Fresh Halibut Cove oysters from family owned Alaska Shellfish Farms
- Rotating selection of fantastic bubbles. Champagne, Crémant, Prosecco, Sparking Wine from California, Cava, and anything else I find that has bubbles and tastes good!
If you show up, we'll keep doing it! If you don't, we will have a staff oyster and champagne party... things could be worse...

Today we stocked our first oyster seed into our upgraded FLUPSY (floating upweller system aka oyster nursery). We built it using some materials we salvaged from a derelict FLUPSY. It was a big project. Our capacity will increase a lot going trom 8 to 32 oyster bins, we are really excited.

Open today 12-7 for last minute gifts and a family cheers! Gift cards, stickers, holiday special bottles, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats! I know cans are a big favorite in stockings.

Small batch beers on tap now…first up is a sweet potato porter made with roast sweet potato. Notes of sweet potato blend into roast with a clean finish.
